This is an improvement on every aspect of the first game. There is nothing about the first game that was done better than the sequel. That's exactly as it should be. There is so much more story and card variation. It is an immensely fun game. I love the companion stories and holographic cards. It's also very well optmized for Nvida cards. Runs at 60fps on high with a GTX 970m.
