Avoid it, unless you love RE5 or RE6 because this game is more in line with those than the rest of the series.

And more important, on a technical note this game isn't very impressing. It runs ok, but the load times are heavier than most other games and sometimes doesn't feel like a premium experience at all, with or without DLCs.

Action over horror. Not my cup of tea. I wouldn't recommend the first RE Revelations either because a lot of fans liked the Revelations spin off simply because it seemed more promising than the main series.

With the releases of RE7, Village, the Remakes of 2 and 3 and now the remake of 4, I'd say the Revelations games so far are obsolete.

This RE3 is a shorter remake of the original RE3.
Although it is shorter than the original, the scope is big enough to give players the gist of the original game in a fancy package.
Maybe it is because I never finished the original game myself and I never grew a bond with it that I can say that I like this remake. Fans of the original might understandably be let down, but this is an interesting game nonetheless.

I'd like to emphasize that the RE2 Remake was a more impressive achievement, even though it also had cut or simplified parts of the original.

Worth playing, and replaying!

I bought the remaster on sale a long time ago and "picked" it out of the backlog a while ago.
I know a lot of folks really love the BIoshock franchise and especially the first game.

Now, honestly I've never been a big fan of this sort of games.
To me the Bioshock games are mechanically similar to Dishonored, Prey (new one), System Shock and such.

But the dealbreaker with Bioshock 2 Remastered is, more or less, all about technical issues.

I've had CTDs, lots. And they made me so frustrated that I decided not to finish the game.
Considering this is a remaster, I feel kind of ripped off that these issues weren't ironed out properly.

On top of the CTDs, the game doesn't autosave as frequently as one might expect. It autosaves between chapters, at least.
But imagine having a CTD and losing your progress repeatedly, then you might imagine why I got sick of this game.

I've been playing this a lot lately, it's a very timeconsuming and rewarding game.
It is like minecraft, but in 2d and it is very different from both minecraft and Starbound. Yet it is very similar because of the gameplay and everything being composed of blocks that can be mined, moved and placed etc.
The gameworld is procedurally generated and can be created in three sizes, either way the gameworld will be pretty large. Don't go overboard with the world size, start small, then make new larger worlds!

One thing that needs to be said is, if you have pals that play this or are willing to play it in multiplayer with you, you'll have a JOLLY GOOD time!

You'll be doing a lot of digging initally, some exploring, building and crafting. The game will be heavy and slowly progressing at first, but because a big part of it is about acquiring better gear for digging and fighting monsters you'll eventually have an easier time and get rewards easier. A cool thing is that while the game had a lot of stuff at release, it has even more stuff now added with patches. Where the game almost had ended before there are now "expansions" to the game's objectives with more stuff to dig, build with and evil things to kill for rewards.
