This port of the game is, to be blunt, quite bad. There's a lot of questionable asset reuse from both Wii and Console. Assets from Wii are completely broken, maps are either unfinished or have different vertex coloring and use broken shaders. Just compare this version to Wii and you'll see massive differences in quality. While the gameplay itself is standard Cars 2, it's difficult to ignore the glaring issues elsewhere. The lack of 3-4 player support, audio loop bug, improper implementation of wide-screen, higher resolution scaling, and sfx are huge deal breakers. This game clearly didn't have enough QA. It's unknown what development this version truly went through but, to me these issues alone don't justify the purchase. Maybe on a sale when it's $5 but, it's absolutely not worth the full price, especially when these issues are backed up by the blatant false advertisement in both the screenshots and the game's Steam page descriptions.

The only thing that brings this specific version to be worth any purchase are the mods created by the fantastic community. 2023 and 24 were insane years for modding in general. Tons of new discoveries were made and 2025 will be no different. If you're searching for the pure vanilla experience though, please do not buy this.
