Every now and then we get blessed with a game that is unintentionally godly. Risk of Rain 2, like Risk of Rain 1, is probably one of the best Rogue like games ever. It's up there with Binding of Isaac and Spelunky as all time classics that will always have a playerbase till the end of time.

I say unintentionally godly because really, this game has both so much and so little. Large amount of unique characters who all have their own unique playstyle,, so every run can feel and play completely different. A small group of well designed maps that have slight alterations for each run that makes it so you don't immediately know the exact lay out, but are still fairly familiar with how the stage SHOULD feel. An item pool that is small but precise in it's effects. You won't have hundreds or thousands of items at your disposal, but the items you do have still feel impactful to the point where, while there are some bad items, every item can fundamentally change the run and make it more fun with how you have to now adapt to certain items. And finally, the music is some of the best damn music put to a game. The ethereal bits fit the mystique of the world of RoR, and the hard guitar makes combat feel powerful.

I've bought RoR2 three different times on 3 seperate consoles. I do not regret any of the purchases.
