I'd like to say that you should give this game a shot anyway, but if you're into THAT type of games, this game is going to be one of your absolute favorites. What do I mean?
This game is a co-op shooter that combines:
1) The action-packed horde fights and advanced progression system like in Killing Floor, L4D and Vermintide series.
2) Tactical challenges and team work like in Payday, Insurgency and GTFO.
3) Well designed class system, where classes co-depend on each other and every class has something that the other class doesn't, like in Team Fortress.
4) Hole digging, crafting, and resource collection like in... well you know already.

Gameplay-wise, see it for yourself.

Content-wise, I believe that the developers definitely know what they're doing and pressing all the right spots to make this game more enjoyable. As it seems, there haven't been any updates that make the game worse, which is surprising at the current age in the modern gaming industry and it makes this game really shine among its counterparts.

There's the couple of things that I would personally want to see in the future
1) An addition of brand new enemy type; I guess It would be cool to see some sentient species among the pool of enemies, with their own technologies and their own interests on Hoxxes.
2) Some new game modes that will provide more tactical challenge to the game would also be great.
3) The ultimate combination of this ideas might be the game mode that will require players to face the lesser amount of enemies, but of more advanced and relatively stronger ones and where players will have to do activites over more complicated objectives.
4) The addition of raid bosses
5) PvP-mode.
6) Story-based campaign, but I understand that this one is unlikely to fit in the general scheme of this game and It takes to much resources to be done.
