Early Access Review
Excellent game! Not for the faint of heart however. The game uses a perma-death system, which can no longer be bypassed by alt-f4. While you technically could make back ups, make a new game after death, then replace the files with the backup, it'd be against the spirit of the game, or potentially cause bugs.

The game has a lot of content by now, some of which is dangerous to your save or sanity. Going to jail can easily last over four real life hours. Driving the Satsuma is fun, as is building it if you're in a specific mood. I can personally do it over and over again, which is typical as dying resets you to day one. The rally is pretty dangerous, but is a great goal to achieve. The story progression is also quite enjoyable.

Particularly, the game has a very immersive moodiness to it. Night driving is one of my favorite things to do. You can learn the roads like you would at home, and so know when to break or go flat out. Being risky will eventually catch you though, with a strong bite.

This game has insane mod support, if you feel you absolutely must, with tool support as well. Many mods are cheaty or semi-cheaty. The game is very difficult or perhaps more distinctly, annoying, especially in the early game. This is intentional, to get you to build and re-build the Satsuma. This is also evident in the need to re-check your car at the bureau for legality every few weeks. A major pain in the ass for all racers or power tuners. In-fact you don't even start with the Hayosiko (big blue van) anymore, instead you must begin working on the Satsuma for a chance to get Uncle to spawn and beg for the key. Thankfully, you have enough food and things to do for the first few days anyways, or you could be an idiot and go take the moped all the way to Teimo's for no particular reason other than the alternator belt and more food. Wear a helmet!

Personally, I use mods in this game. I have never completed it, but I hope to some time after it is fully developed, including getting the rest of the achievements. I love this game, and finding my playstyle adapting over time. I rely less and less on the very fleshed out (you should try to avoid it, except for maybe the car building guide) wikia.

tl;dr arbitrary 7.85/10: best thing from Finland since Nokia, UnReal World, and hockey players.

Pros

10/10 Massive value
9/10 Unique (only survival version of car building games, but you can get more streamlined versions in other games of building vehicles, tanks, planes, etc.)
10/10 In-depth mechanics for simulation of the Satsuma
8/10 Atmospheric (Completely there, but the graphics may be ugly for beginners, its got a charm though)
10/10 Moddable (RaceDepartment, but particularly now the Nexus are FILLED with mods, more being added regularly, with sophisticated and dedicated developers.

Note: Active developer, particularly in beta branch (save or gameplay unfriendly at times), with sequel in development. Game is nearing completion.

Cons

6/10 Extremely punishing, infinite amounts of hours, and it takes quite a while to achieve things.
7/10 Annoying, but it's intentionally so, and mods can largely get around it, if you're into that sort of thing.
3/10 Because of large amounts of simulation, the game can lag badly without a SSD and a strong processor, or even some with those high powered devices with many items, if not using the very good modern optimization mod. Very much limited by the Unity engine in terms of optimization, but the mods make it mostly worth it by far.
