Last time I checked id software prided itself on high quality pc gaming experience - yet you release a game that can't even alt-tab properly, honestly that alone is a dealbreaker for me.

However, the game itself is also a departure from Doom 2016, with the inclusion of daily missions / seasons to try to keep people hooked into playing it's blatantly tone deaf while trying to capture a market that shouldn't exist in the first place.

Maybe something I'll try after several patches, on sale.

Honestly, this game is still an excellent value @ 30.00 - but going against your stated word is unethical.

Probably the closest thing in existence to a Master of Orion II Successor.

True ship customization, not simply aesthetic nonsense. Acceptable variety of tech to put on your ship(s) ranging from ballistic weaponry, missiles, energy weapons & hangar bays. More would be nice, but it leaves room for improvement.

Better ground based combat than MooII / Stardrive 1 - could be enhanced ( Have not played DLC as of this posting* )
More games should go for the "tactics" based feel.

Real time combat is handled well, though the fluidity of Stardrive 1 was more desireable it certainly could cause some serious lag late game, so the instanced combat is an understandable compromise.

If you are a fan of true 4X & not the horrible knockoffs that we've seen in the last decade you will love this game & its predecessor (despite it being a bit clunky)

The only other space-based sequel with as much care poured into it as Stardrive II is perhaps Starpoint Gemini 2(which is more of an Escape Velocity successor).

Every other 4X should take note of how to make a proper game.

Stardrive 3 had better be Multiplayer,

Easily one of the best games of the Ps3, if not the best. a true shame the sequels were not on the Ps3. Hopefully sega will see the error of their ways & bring 2 & 3 to Steam.

Turn based tactical RPG with a fresh twist, for its time & to this day.
