A game with a compelling narrative and wonderful puzzle design.

---
Many will draw comparisons to Portal.
The puzzles in The Turing Test scratch a different part of the brain than Portal's.
There is not the same emphasis on movement or spacial reasoning, and the many mechanics for powering objects provides puzzles that feel just as creative and challenging(-but-rewarding) as Portal's.

The relationship with the AI-"companion" (T.O.M) in The Turing Test is different than that with GLaDOS.
GLaDOS is funny - her humour coming from her constant condescension, egocentric nature, and the discrepancies between her robot-logic and human-thinking.
T.O.M is rather compelling throughout - this interest coming from his reassurance, intelligence and logic, and the similarities between his robot-logic and human-thinking.
---
  • The game is a masterclass in how to teach players about new mechanics.
  • The soundtrack is often subtle but sometimes rather impactful, with mixtures of beats and angelic, orchestral voices.
  • The narrative asks questions about human nature and Artificial Intelligence, which is evident throughout the main plot but also in the additional story elements discovered through the game's delightful optional puzzles, which feel very rewarding to complete.

The Turing Test is a favourite... without a doubt!
