It is true what others have said: this is a far cry from a good game, and even further when you take into account the Arkham games that came before it. That's even acknowledging that WB was running this show, and not Rocksteady! I mean, Arkham Origins was decent enough (and although I do have my bones to pick with Arkham Knight, this is not the time or the place). This game, though. This is trash. The combat is unintuitive, slow-paced, and wonky. What few hours of the story I encountered were not intriguing, and did not entice me to find Batman's killer (opening cutscene spoiler, sorry). Also, introducing an uninteresting and clunky RPG system to a game series that historically has not had or needed it. No. Just no.

I don't know how it's possible to take the bones of a stellar franchise, add cooperative play, add multiple intriguing (on paper) playable characters, and still wind up with this disappointing heap of trash. For the record, I paid $2.78 for this, and I still feel that was overly generous. I have roughly 2.6 hours into this game, and that will be it. I can honestly say that I will never play this game again, for the rest of my life. I will not Google the villains in the game, what happens in it, or how it ends. I can honestly say that I could not care less.

Thank you for your work, WB. I never thought I would so readily add a company to the top of my do-not-buy-from list. (Make room EA and Ubisoft.)

What we have here is a weird mixture of various other games with some unique ideas thrown in. The problem is that it all feels really just slapped together. Your character isn't overly responsive and feels like he weighs 8 tons while you're moving around. The general combat is okay though, its nothing amazing but its a very solid foundation that they can build on.

The building is terrible, its just bad. The basics are all there but the building itself is uncomfortable and very very finicky. They at least have a free move building camera and that does help but the snapping is troublesome and not intuitive. Having to get the exact right angle on something like a roof panel is cumbersome and it took me about three times as long to just get a roof over my head than it should have.

There is a decent variety of things to build and you've got pretty free range to build as you see fit. However the build radius itself, at least where I was at in the progression was very small so I felt very limited. Placing things works well enough, easy enough to rotate things around and there is a decent tech tree to work through.

Resource gathering is more or less painless and its what you would expect. Hack at trees to get wood, go find copper or whatever else to mine. Nothing felt like it took too long to amass if you just spend a few minutes doing it. I do like the crafting queue feature at each of the crafting stations, frees you up to go do whatever while you wait for it to do its thing and nothing took all that long to complete.

The skills system itself... is a bit confusing. There is this whole what I am guessing is like a pokemon type of system. You can obtain new little critters or deviants I guess they call them to put in your backpack and each has its own skills to use. I only found 2 during my time, the butterfly and a little jelly guy. The butterfly was just some extra dps that would do it when you toss it at something, the jelly guy could turn into cover or act as defense. I honestly forgot I had them most of the time. I got to around level 12 and only fought one thing that put up any sort of resistance. The first rift boss, big thing with some basic mechanics that I was able to match make into..

It wasn't hard or anything, had some bare minimum mechanics and it fell over

Every other enemy I came across wasn't a threat.. like at all. The general zombie like guys you see everywhere all are dead before they even know you're there. Couple of weird big cat things with a tarp over their head? They also die easily all you need to do is back pedal while you fight them and they can't hit you. the AI is on a level of PS2 games. Although i genuinely think some PS2 games had better enemy AI than this game

Couple of other larger creatures, couldn't even tell you what they do because they all just fell over dead with nothing but the basic pistol you get shortly after the tutorial. Most enemies seem to have 2 or 3 different attacks that they just spam at random and very slow.

What bothered me the most was that you could just see everyone's structures.. everywhere.. you can't go anywhere without seeing someone's little base or forward respawn point. Its just urban sprawl on an active server.. stuff built everywhere and it just was goofy to see. I mean I get it, its going to happen in a game where you can build if its a public server but this was just obscene. Anyone who had played something like old school starwars galaxies know what Im talking about.. houses.. houses as far as the eye can see concentrated around the major areas. It just.. feel bad and sorta takes me out of the whole thing. There is no point in finding a cool place to build or even a unique base design because there is just stuff everywhere and everyone's place looks more or less the same. Im sure that gets better in the later areas but its just a pretty big turn off for me.

Graphically, its pretty good. No real complaints. Game looks and ran great. Its not the best visually but in the genre its in, its a good contender for good visuals. No real visual glitches or anything weird happening. Very solid on that front.

I might give it another go later, but I think I saw everything I needed to see. It just didn't grab me,

For a free game? Seems okay, but there is just too much competition out there that do what they're trying to do but better. Since its free, id say pick it up if your curious, but don't expect something that is just gonna draw you in and make you want to keep going. I lost stream really quickly on it and its a real shame, had alot of potential but alas. Not for me.

If this game being Developed by Ubisoft doesn't scare you away then maybe the following will.

-$20 monthly subscription to play
-Any notable bands and songs are covers
-90% of the music library being soundcloud artists you've never heard of
-Terrible UI
-Terrible latency
-Live service only
and if all that still doesn't deter you, this is the same company that said "players don't own their games" so how long will it be before they pull this project and force you to try the newest version for an even higher cost.

Tekken 8 is an AAA priced game with free-to-play game's monetization.

You won't be able to practice against paid DLC characters without buying the character.

Microtransactions and battle passes are a higher priority than people plugging on games

Pros:
It's a fighting game with decent netcode

Cons:
There is no punishment for rage quitting
The are no rewards for ranked
They are taking items which were in the previous game and asking you to pay for them
The customization is not up to standard for what fans expected
The story ends for an obvious DLC tie in
They waited until all reviews were out to announce Tekken Shop
The character episode endings are not up to standard to previous titles

F2P done right

After playing Destiny for a long time and finally deciding to actually try Warframe, I can safely say that this game is infinitely better than Destiny. The combat feels rewarding, the customization feels rewarding, the MODDING feels rewarding. Compared to Destiny, Warframe makes you feel powerful. Nothing is paid for, you can grind for everything you need and that is the best thing a free to play game can offer. There is also an in-game MARKET DEVELOPED BY THE COMMUNITY that lets you trade in-game items for the games premium paid currency.
