If you play mostly modern games - DONT BOTHER.

i do not understand how this game won GOTY, i understand fromsoftware is a huge developer and is known for making some beloved games, and im aware the game is intentionally difficult but my issues have nothing to do with its difficulty. this game launched only a few years ago and supports 0 modern freatures.

NO DLSS
NO Ultrawide Support
60FPS Lock
NO Raw Input
Fake Ray Tracing
NO PS Controller Support

The lack of raw input makes playing this game on a controller or a mouse stupidly difficult because it feels awful, the game has no DLSS, which normally would be fine since i have a 4090, but even then the game is incredibly unoptimised that it struggles to hit that much higher than 60fps when unlocked, the game engine is stuttery which makes the raw input issue worse.

it doesnt support Ultrawide natively so youll have to mod it, and then the mod is buggy and forces you to disable the anticheat to make it work so i forfeit the ability to play CO-OP with friends (not the mods fault fromsoft should be supporting a modern feature such as Ultrawide)

they decided to update the game one day to add Ray Tracing, yet all they did was add a toggle for deeper and more shadows, its not actually Ray Tracing as it has 0 performance impact and doesnt look good.

but above all the lack of Playstation Controller support is downright ridiculous, you can plug in a PS controller and load the game and it will work, but the icons do not, its either mouse and keyboard icons, or its xbox controller icons. but even then the default controller binds are so poorly thought out it makes me want actually cry, its not upto the end user to fix the issues a massive developer is constantly making.

again, i know this game is popular.
its art style is outstanding and the player base is great, but my god it is absolutely Abysmal that a game dev as large as fromsoftware cant make a game that feels like its from the current generation.

refunding it and buying Horizon Forbidden West instead since that actually supports proper modern features like a AAA title is supposed to

not only are the mechanics super dated for a VR game and make it feel like 2017 but its simply unresponsive sometimes due to how the hand tracking is build (outdated as ♥♥♥♥) the time travel is really cool and some of the puzzles are neat but most of them are just simply dumb and they expect you to be the smartest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on planet earth to get them, if you want this for time travel and time travel ONLY - you will enjoy this, but if youre expecting this to match up against other titles like HLA and Boneworks you are going to be MIGHTY disappointed

lets just start off with saying this game if free, and yet its something beyond what most VR games do in 2020, it utilises your place space in order to track your location in game, always making sure your'e A: never going to hit something and B: always finding your way back to the centre...now the cons is that it is short, but in saying that its a demo of sorta for the full game that's to come later on, The art style is really pretty, the game plays and runs well on my 1660 TI, the Whip physics are realistic to the point that mastering it is satisfying, all and all a really fantastic and fun little adventure for the family, would definitely recommend.

now ive never written a review before, but this was special to me, If youve ever sat there like me and wondered what a world like CyberPunk, like Blade Runner, like Altered Carbon, simply a Futuristic Utopia, what it would be like to fly a car around it, yeah, same...growing up i was always into these kinda of cities, Holographic Utopias, specifically Raining at night, now the Graphics arent exactly ground breaking, given the visuals are still stunning, the rain on your car rush by due to velocity, the controls for quick and lenient maneuverability, given you need an iron stomach to endure it, the other flying cars racing by your screen as if there is others just like you in this city, just living their lives, the sense of perspective is above all the most incredible VR Experience i have encountered to date, above such things as Lone Echo and even Half Life Alyx, yes theyre good games, but they dont strike me as emotionally as this does, this has become a dream come true for me, not only am i able to do such a thing, but listening to music really calms you down in your travels, if your looking for an amazing experience, or you just want to experience a Utopia as stunning as this, i definitely recommend giving this masterpiece a download, after all, it is free
