Outer Wilds

Outer Wilds is one of the best games, which you don’t want to know anything about before starting the game. It’s truly, a once in a lifetime experiences players can ever have.

At some point in the past, a good friend of mine bought this as a gift, with a note not to look for any information about it beforehand. I stored the game in my gaming library, a few years passed and almost forgot about it, but one day I clicked the install button.

Just remembering back to that day, will make me emotional. I wasn’t sure if I was still able to feel this kind of emotion from a video game, due to the hardships I had. The soundtrack will make me forget my current life at any point of time and makes me relive the past moment of songs I have heard.

After finishing the original game, instantly bought the DLC Echoes of the Eye. And it’s also an experience I won’t probably ever forget. It’s a must buy and play for everyone who likes the original game even a one bit.

Final score: 10/10, with best exploration, space and mystery genre of game I have ever played.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy

Replayed the first Trine release to Nightmare Prince with same friend before hopping to newest Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy. Experiencing all the previous storylines and other elements of the game series, I can happily say few things.

Firstly, you don’t need to play the previous games to get the storyline of the new game, there’s of course few hints of old games, but nothing extremely miss worthy.

Secondly, Trine 5 has the most polished, challenging puzzles and bosses, not forgetting the new game mechanics of our main protagonists are able to perform throughout the game. Old players will be shocked by how the original mechanics can be still enhanced for great game experience.

Thirdly and lastly, the game looks gorgeous. Just stopping time to time to view background and surroundings, will make this release my favorite Trine (game series) game of all time. Additionally, the encountered friendly NPCs will melt your heart by how cute they are.

PS: This release is a bit longer taking approx. 15 hours to finish. For achievement hunters, once finishing the main story, there is a checkpoint load system per level which will ease out looking those missed XP drops.

+1 to final score, for Trine series been developed by a Finnish game studio. Where they have delivered a solid game experience from each release, sometimes taking new approaches but eventually still returning to good old classics with enhanced mechanics providing noteworthy legacy of the game series overall.
