CLANNAD is without a doubt the best and most engaging visual novel I have ever played.
All of the characters are super likeable, has their own background story and reasons why they are like they are. Every single route has SO much content it's insane. It's full of cute moments and jokes that keeps it really entertaining between the otherwise serious and emotionally touching story. The music really sticks with you throughout the story and is often used against you to make your cry at all the correct moments to cry and make you smile at all the right moments as well. The game has many endings, and to obtain the true ending you must play through practically all of them. Every ending is incredible for it's own reasons and feels like they could all be worthy of their own game. This game takes many MANY hours to finish all the way to the end, but it always feels fresh and enjoyable every single time i went into a new route. CLANNAD has a theme around family and the importance of it, and you will see that pop into every route you play.

After almost 100 hours of playing through this game and finishing the true ending of the game, I am STILL missing extra scenarios and content the games has to offer. I've enjoyed every single minute of playing this and I will most definitely play it again in the future. For now I want to play the sides stories and Tomoyo After. I seriously can't get enough of this game, it's world and it's characters. The anime adaptation is also incredible and tells the story really well, but the visual novel is still a completely different experience from the anime and I would suggest the visual novel over the anime anytime if you really want the best experience. And if you are as much of a sucker for cute stories as I am. Oh boy you'll be having a hell of a good time.
The price of the game is arguably high, but for how much content and 3 digit hours of entertainment it offers, I would say the price is fair and worth it. Otherwise you can wait for a sale if one rolls around if you can't pay that money for it or just think it's too much.
