Master Duel is a fun title in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Series and I would say finally a playable PC game to rival MTGA, as an avid player of both, I believe this title is much better executed than some of its predecessors although far from perfect, as there is always room for improvements, as I'm sure you all know.

This title doesn't use the TCG banlist for one, and so you will see some very interesting deck archetypes and combos that were lost to time, whilst I personally find that cool, there are other players who believe it to be insanely frustrating.

In terms of deck power, there are always top tier metadecks that dominate, but you can reliably hit Platinum with most deck archetypes if you know what you're doing. I personally did it with a Classic Six Samurai deck before adding in unfun monstrosities like Rhongomyniad.

Expect Maxx C, Ash Blossom, Effect Veiler, Skill Drain, Called by the Grave, all cards that provide great source of contention, but with the right deck, it won't stop you winning most of your duels.

At least so far, they've also been incredibly generous with the in-game currency, you will get plenty of gems to reliably build at least one (maybe even two) strong decks. Play it all the time and you could easily hit a wide variety of decks that you can move between.

There is, of course, also a friend system too, whilst not the most intuitive, you will be able to play duels with friends as well.

All in all, a good title, worth picking up if you like Yu-Gi-Oh! Thought perhaps a bit daunting if you've never played the card game before, it doesn't "Teach" too well.

Oh boy, so I will start this review off by saying I am biased because I personally love Yakuza games. I got into them quite late (Yakuza 0) but have been addicted to them ever since!

So when it comes to this title, this delivers the same beautiful juxtaposition of a serious, hard hitting story with some M. Night Shyamalan level abstract cutscenes. The game will have you laughing and ugly crying in perfect unison as you watch a ridiculously cheesey Karaoke cutscene and then watch a character you love die.

The character design is fantastic as always, with characters you know mixed in with new characters, some you love, some you hate and some you love to hate. Whilst this won't mean too terribly much to you right now, Hirose is one of my favourite characters in the entire Yakuza series.

On top of that, the soundtrack in this game is as powerful as it is in every Yakuza game, there's some heavy hitting guitar riffs interlaced with powerful backbeats and even one or two orchestral masterpieces. The soundtrack is a real eclectic collection of music that all feels like it fits in perfectly with this game.

And of course, there are hours and hours of minigames, Karaoke, Club Sega, Mahjong and the Batting Centre all make reappearances but there are some new upgrades There's a new Gym Challenge, RIZAP. Kiryu has upgraded from coast fishing to spear fishing, and now manages his own baseball team. There's even a bar chat minigame which ended up being incredibly wholesome

Combat remains largely the same as it always is, Rush Combos combined with finishers and "I-can't-believe-he-hasn't-killed-a-man" heat moves. Some enemies go down like a sack of potatoes, but the bosses tend to require a bit of grinding and pattern recognition. Or just some items.

All in all, for the price they ask for, this game is a steal, it'll give you plenty to do, justify multiple playthroughs and just all in all be a wonderful experience!

Monster Hunter Stories 2 is an incredibly fun title. It offers turn-based combat, merges with a rock-paper-scissors mechanic to create some truly challenging combat.

True to Monster Hunter in a traditional sense, monsters have patterns and behaviours that if you invest yourself into learning you'll find the combat is a lot less random than it initially seems, with certain monsters preferring specific types of attacks.

On top of that, there's a complicated breeding system that will have you learning to recognise monster eggs by sight alone, and interpreting your aide's lines to know the quality of the egg. If you want the best monsties, there's plenty of time to be spent here too!

The story isn't... amazing, but it's also not terrible! It's interesting enough to warrant a play-through and the collectathon achievements warrant plenty of time spent in the game, if that's something you're into. There are no annoying hard-to-get achievements, and even the multiplayer achievements can be completed by yourself.

All in all if you like RPGs, and Turn Based battle systems, this system will give you plenty of enjoyment, lace that with an incredible monster-hunter worthy soundtrack and a beautiful world filled with monsters you know and love, and you will have a great time with this title.

Is this game 5/5? 10/10? Perfect without any flaws? Absolutely not. But is this a damn good game worth picking up? You are damn right.

Elden Ring is an absolutely fantastic game that boasts a number of features that make the game incredible to play through so let's take the time to go through the details and assess this fairly, and hopefully guide you to a purchase;

- Soundtrack:

The Elden Ring Soundtrack is an absolute gem of well-composed masterpieces that are capable of invoking plenty of emotion, they've always had good songs in their games (Maiden Astraea anyone?) this game boasts a fantastic soundtrack full of diversity, so it doesn't sound like you're just listening to the same song over and over.

- Gameplay

The gameplay for Elden Ring leans a little bit towards the more Dark Souls style of gameplay compared to the Sekiro style, however it did take some of the features (like poise actually mattering, and opening up critical hits) and mixed them into a more traditional style of system, you don't need the critical hits to do a metric tonne of damage anymore, but it is damn satisfying.

Outside of combat the world is interesting to explore, you have the ability to jump meaning the world opens up way more, and a well-drawn map means you can find a good 80% of the game without the help of any guides as the map uses an intuitive illustration system that makes points to explore stand out (heck some caves are outright drawn on the map)

- Writing

George R.R. Martin is a little bit of a name that I personally feel gets overhyped, however I must say the work that has gone into this game is really standout, there's a lot of lore to explore with interesting characters and some interesting outcomes. It's hard to give specific examples without spoiling, but the game does reward you for putting the time in to explore it.

Multiple different endings add to that typical experience we know and love, and I would recommend trying to discover them without a guide. They're very satisfying to explore and try to find out about.

Cons
Couldn't be an objective review if we didn't fairly look at the flaws too.

- The game is known to be buggy, this is typical Triple A day one bug nonsense that is rife throughout a lot of games these days, whilst Elden Ring is no exception it does still need calling out. I myself have gotten stuck trying to get on the horse twice and just randomly died for it.

- The boss design is very inconsistent, there are MANY well designed bosses in this game, with interesting challenges and even some beautiful cutscene/attack blending. BUT they are guilty of the same thing a lot of open world games do, for a game that prides itself on bosses, it has like 10 boss archetypes that it cuts and pastes from, artificially increasing the size of the game whilst some of the designs are... meh.

- Sites of Grace are EVERYWHERE, so whilst fast travel is welcome, the map gets so busy and pretty ugly to look at.

- It definitely feels more like it's forcing a particular playstyle, magic is exceptionally strong within the game and the agility of a vast majority of normal enemies (let alone bosses) makes strength builds hard to execute on. However if you like a challenge, I do recommend it!

All in all, the pros of this game vastly outweigh the cons, the bugs will be fixed, the copy and pasted bosses don't have to be found and fought. The main story bosses are amazing as is the overall challenge posed by the game. It's a great game that will serve you well for multiple play-throughs, and well worth playing. It's not perfect, but the perfect game doesn't exist, there are many games we love in spite of their flaws, and this game have very few flaws to begin with.

I recommend this game, very much!

This is a fun little title with plenty of attention given to Easter Eggs and is a clear labour of love by the developer.

Those of you who love simulation games should endeavour to pick this one up as this is one of the better ones with a complex system that can be seemingly difficult to understand at first, but once mastered will have you churning out games better than Battlefield 2042

Those of you hunting achievements can pick this one up with ease, as it's a pretty simple perfect game to pick up!

A Fellow Tekken player once said to me "Soul Calibur is a glorified game of Rock, Paper Scissors", which tickled me at the time, and something I admittedly went into this game expecting.

Whilst it's true that there's a very well-defined system of moves countering moves, the only way I could conceivably say that Soulcalibur is like a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors is if the traditional hand-based dispute settling game had 17 different variations to pick from, instead of just 3.

Whilst Soul Calibur VI boasts a system that I would argue is very simple to pick up and play, you can spend hours and hours in this title working to master it. The options available to you at any one time are numerous, as are your opponent's options. This creates wild, fast-paced gameplay that feels undeniably satisfying to get correct.

Aside from that, the visuals are great, if not boasting some unnecessary nudity, but the character creator's endless options can have you create (and play against) some hilariously nightmarish constructs of one's imaginations.

For low ranked play, the game is a little inactive, and it can take a while to get a match, which is a con that must be called out, however if that won't bother you, you consider yourself a fighting game savant, or if you just want to play a nice, lengthy story mode, this title is for you.

Wargroove is a charming little Turn-Based Strategy game that pays homage to Advance Wars in all the right ways, it should come as no surprise that the WarGroove team took inspiration from one of the most iconic titles in the Turn-Based Strategy genre, and I would encourage you to earn as many stars as possible so you can see that inspiration for yourself in early development artwork.

However, even with this title being a little old, and an Advance Wars Remaster on the horizon, I would STILL recommend this incredible title. Why? Because it stands out on its own, it is its own title, and its own game within the genre, introducing unique mechanics that make it a beautiful standalone Turn-Based Strategy, worthy of its own recognition.

- This Title has charming, quirky characters, with tiny attentions to detail that show an overwhelming amount of love and charm for this title (Hint: To see this for yourself, capture a building with Koji)

- The music and sound design is great, from unique character themes to inspirational battle music, to tiny little sound effects.

- The Pixel art is deceptively detailed, and the fluidity of the animations are actually awe-inspiring to watch.

- The units have unique crit conditions, meaning the game is more about how you utilise your on-field units as well as just what units you deploy.

- The community made items keep the game a seemingly endless playability.

- Don't be fooled by my low Steam playtime, I love this game so much I bought it TWICE, once on Steam and once on Switch, and enjoy the game tremendously.

This is one of those titles that I believe is well worth experiencing, not just as a homage to Advance Wars, but as WarGroove, a new and exciting title within the Turn-Based Strategy Genre

Company of Heroes 2 is a game that I have a lot of love for, aside from a few flaring bugs within the DLC (which I don't own, hence it not reflecting negatively on my Yes/No vote) the game itself is solid.

Of course this review probably seems a bit superfluous what with 3 announced and on the way, but all the same I shall talk about it regardless.

Company of Heroes emphasises the Strategy element of a real-time strategy game, unit lives are incredibly important and this game has you perfecting a skill that you seldom see in other strategy games, and that is liberal use of retreating.

The sound design is fantastic, from the occasional 4th-wall breaking joke to the idle chatter, CoH2 does a very good job of fairly humanising all belligerents of WW2, with some truly heartbreaking casualty quotes coming in from all sides.

Adding onto that sound design point just a little bit more, there's something truly chilling but also amazing about the way you can hear the intimidating boom of off-map artillery being fired.

The game lends itself to replayability with an absolute armada of community made stuff that's fun to dive into and explore.

It's only real drawback is that the developer made add-ons are often significantly worse than the community made ones, and from other reviews it seems that fixing broken commanders, bugs and campaigns is not really a priority.

Nerfed the heck out of Ostruppen tho.

I'll let the game review itself.

"YOU ARE A CLERKY WHOSE BRAIN DOES NOT WORKY"

All jokes aside this is actually a hilarious "Choose-Your-Misadventure" style game with multiple branching paths and unexpected outcomes.

You play a Clerk who has two responses, Silence or "No". The developer is very aware of this and sometimes tries to catch you out within your own responses and actually really making you think, how do you apologise a character when you can only say no? It's a challenge that was fun to convert.

I bought this game and absolutely BINGED it, it pulled me in and before I know it I've spent a good 8 hours navigating through the various answers to try and collect endings, and all without even thinking of looking for a Guide, as I was that engaged.

There's a great sense of humour from the developer and so you can expect this to be a funny experience at the very least, as you move through.
