I had fun with this, but the movement math is screwed up and once I realized that it was tough to keep playing

I've never taken the time to leave a negative comment, but this game has potential and I'd love to see it get an overhaul.

The voice acting is fine. The art style is poppy and fun. The mechanics are there, but desperately need ironing out.

The biggest sin - the game is too easy by a mile. I played on the higher of two difficulties and swept through the first two bosses with hardly a hit taken. This is the reason I'm requesting a refund and will happily be back if the game continues to develop.

* A simple patch that I think would help tremendously with the pacing of the gameplay loop
Move the reward screen to be a decision on leaving the room rather than on defeating the last enemy. As is it's jarring and requires a stop in action followed immediately by leaving the room / load screen. Combine the breaks in action.

Just a handful of hours in and loving the game. Definitely going to play the first one when I'm through with this.

I'm loving the game and just beat the first main boss, Yingzhao, and felt compelled to leave a review.
The game hasn't made any major innovations, so far, but has implemented a polished arsenal of the expected mechanics of the genre.
I spent, what I expect to be, the most lives defeating this boss than I have any boss from across the genre. Despite that I didn't feel frustrated or cheated once. I knew exactly what I needed to do to defeat him, and that it was perfectly within reach, but piecing it all together took many attempts.
I'm looking forward to seeing what else the game has to offer.

Early Access Review
These guys know how to make a polished game. Early access and it feels finished.
Beyond that good enemy variety and AI. Nothing ever felt unfair. Punishing at times, but not unfair.

Excellent showing. I'm excited to see how the rest of it plays out.

I have to say, I absolutely love this game.

But it would be nice to have a few obvious things fixed. Like not being able to shoot a bow or fire a ranged spell from around a corner. Or not being able to both move and attack with spiritual weapon in a single turn.

Also, inventory filters would be a huge QOL improvement.

Seriously, though. Love the game.

Edit: Making a running list
- No inventory filters
- Can't see stats of other PCs during one PCs turn
- No camera rotation speed setting
- No indication of what was received for completing a quest, that I can tell. Gold just appears
in my inventory but I have to have remembered what was already there to even gauge how
lucrative a quest was. And new items show up in inventory but no indication how I got them.
- When an enemy casts acid arrow on a PC and they miss the PC still takes the acid damage

This game is so good I'm writing my first review.

The combat mechanics are polished. The ability trees are fun and well thought out, opening up new dynamics with progression and meaningful boosts to obtained abilities. New/interesting enemies are introduced often enough to keep things fresh. The story is well written.

With that said, I'm not a fan of the injury + vitality mechanic. I skirted it by playing on normal difficulty and only suffered injuries a couple times in late game, so it wasn't a big hindrance, but I'd love to play on hard without these mechanics. I think it would work better with one mechanic or the other, but injuries and vitality healing that have to be resolved in two different buildings (multiple missions missed) is obnoxious.

The dialogue can be a bit cheesy, and the voice acting is hit or miss. There were a few short-lived side characters with excellent voice acting, but many with awful acting. But I was able to overlook this for the most part considering how much fun I was having playing the game.
