I made it to top 500 as soloQ light, here is my review:
if you are a competitive player, do not waste your time on this game.

Let me start by saying this game has some of the best movement / gun feel / game pace and a lot of really cool unique mechanics. I really enjoy this game up until my points below.

- embark has probably the WORST balance team on the market. the game is balanced around casual play with little to no consideration for high elo. the result? the only truly viable current meta comp in high elo is medium triple stack running model + defib + healbeam / demat. this has been the meta for 2 and a half seasons now. embark refuses to make "big changes" mid seasons and only "shakes up the meta" at the start of ever season. so there is no end in sight to MMM model defib stacking

- climbing is a literal nightmare, depending on seeding you are averaging +200/400 ranked points for first place which takes around 30 minutes, but you will lose up to -800/1000 points in as little as 10 minutes.. that much is okay if you're good at the game; I did make it to ruby as soloq light. but the problem is that 2 bad losses back to back can set you back like 6 or 7 wins (around 3 hours of wins lost in 20 minutes)

- between the cheaters, griefers, 3rd partying, and completely low quality fiesta lobbies, there is just no fun to be had at times.. in ONE evening I played against the SAME blatant aimbotter THREE TIMES without him getting banned, and another blatant wallhacker. that is 4 losses at the hands of BLATANT cheaters (which as mentioned before set me back around 3000 points (~10 wins). And that's only against the blatant cheaters, how many more closet cheaters are in my games? I can't say for sure but I suspect a good handful of players were.

this is probably the 3rd time now that I make it to ~top 400 and have all my progress undone back down to one loss away from platinum demotion in the span of 3-4 games due to REALLY unlucky losses or straight up cheaters. this game is such a miserably slow grind that does not feel rewarding at all when you lose an hour and a half of progress in 10 minutes

also ranked queue times sometimes take like 15 minutes?

If you are looking to play this game competitively as solo queue DO NOT waste your time on this hunk of garbage.. you will lose your sanity

It's really a shame because this is probably the best feeling FPS in a LONG LONG LONG time but for now I think I just uninstall..
