hey lily it been a long time since the last time we talked and a lot has happened since then been sick .ln real life we all get older and things happen me been thru six back surgeries and still not fixed regarding you issue have you done a full restore of your computer and wiped everything out and then reinstall steam then dod with all new files how old is your computer sorry for responding so late i havent been on steam in a long time

I am hanging out to play DoD either 1.3 or 3.1 but just letting you know, I've struggled all this time since 'bout july last year to get my game back up and running but dang I've had an outrageous amount of road blocks of all different kinds, be it the outside ( half real) world or the machinations of the digitised inner workings of pc with software gone wrong. For example, I need to fix unknown reason why I have no access to view the disk manager, typically useless non descriptive error message telling you what you already know, that it's not available or can't be accessed. Hmm,,, great help microsoft NOT! Sooo, I found this forgotten utility trawling through my folders which was called "fix windows bugs & errors that none of microsofts utilities can" RIGHTEYO, I thought, lets give this program a spin.

It had some very interesting features packed into it and the deeper I looked, I realised I'd need to be vehwee vehwee careful which tools to use. OK? finally making my selections, hit fix or clean or what ever the heck it was and boom budder bing it was done
Checked to view disk manager, ooohhhweee, there it was :) Being late in the evening I decided to watch a movie. No probs' morning comes, pc restart, low & behold, screen resolution rather messed up & I have no internet. Standard windows default vga drivers in the registry are now mixed up with my graphcs card drivers, reinstalled network drivers, although that was really buggy for 3 or 4 days, now stable. I decided to fix the registry problems as I had made a copy of the system registry when it was a clean install. This is heading into a week now of deciphering parts of the original reg file and looking for where entries are wrong or missing. Hopefully I'll be able to pull all my notes together tomorrow and import to the reg'.

Audio, did I forget to mention audio problems??? I've come full circle here since it was the same day I chose to run the 3.1 dodutility.exe, saw it was a miniature menu options for dod, ticked a setting or 2 then closed it. After browsing the 3.1 folders, I joined dod 1.3 server to grab a game and ended up getting this weired audio feedback loop, sorta like shellshock in a tunnel. I imagined it was somthing within the server/map. Disconnected joined another server no probs, closed dod. When I went to run dod again the pc froze @dod menu interface. Logs showed HL launcher crash but I can't decipher those. I ask you zero, What's the point of the system creating logs that no average user can comprehend and again microsoft did not create a user friendly application to read logs or crash files? you need a freaking IT degree to work with ms's debugger. OMG! so... I'm still at square 1 with all this, broken game, broken graphics drivers and audio issues. Ohh, BTW Helloooo
