you get to play as a friggin kiwi what can i say. music absolutely slaps on zone 1 3 and 4 but whats lacking is the skeletons, i dont jump out of my chair hard enough when i see one

I heard this game was good especially on hard mode like veteran, but i didnt expect it to be as good as i thought it would be.
It all started at Garbage where the difficulty would ramp up a bit with more enemies to fight, and a common face that would feel more unique after my encounters with him.

Dying was a common occurrence to me (L bozo), ive probably seen the main menu more times than i have healing myself, so i felt defeated playing this game and i was close to quitting. But it was only until i went to Duty checkpoint in a thunderstorm at night that i was shown the reason to keep moving.

There were a couple of Duty soldiers around but there was only 1 man next to a fire. He was sipping some red bull so i decided to chill opposite to him, at that point i was deciding to quit the game, but thats when he whipped out his guitar.

During the piss-pouring rain, raging thunder and the clash of lightning, he played ‘He was a good stalker.’ As i listened while this thunderstorm was going on, i realized how ironic this is. How such a bad storm is beating down while this guy is playing this melancholic tune for me to hear, almost like hes making light out of a bad situation. So it dawned on me that this is an unforgiving game and i shouldnt quit just because of a few hard enemies, just try to have fun with a game that wants to ♥♥♥♥ you over then pats you on the back and repeat. So i did what any person would do after seeing a concert performance like that, i gave him half of my food, ammo, bandages and the like for free (he was broke anyways so nothing to trade).

Hours go by at The Bar, Yanov, the scientists, Wild Territory, then back past the duty checkpoint. At that point I started to get tired of STALKER, not because im dying alot, I’m getting better and actually hiding behind cover alot now, but im just getting bored of it. I get to duty checkpoint and whaddya know, its nighttime and a thunderstorm is going off, while i see that guy in the distance next to the fire. I immediately run and sit next to the guy and wait until he pulls out his guitar, he does and i just listen to him while the storm rages on. Theres just something about the atmosphere of STALKER that just allures me to this game, just sitting next to a fire in a thunderstorm while a person strums his guitar, inspiring in a way. When he stopped to take out a bite of his big diet weenie, I felt invigorated and ready to go again for more of this beautiful game and what lies at the end.

To me that man and Duty checkpoint will be like home to me, if i ever feel like im ready to quit and be done with this game, i just go there and sit down hoping he sits as well so i could chill and talk with him.

And i know in my heart everytime a thunderstorm goes off at night he goes and sits down next to that fire, waiting for me to sit and listen to his songs of hope, so It is mandatory to listen to the calls of thunder when dusk comes.

Play this game, seriously.

Not even over an hour in the game and i was ALREADY neutral on it!
