I can say with confidence that there is a lot i like about this game. Its unique by including moba and rts into a weird hybrid but strangely makes it work, even as a new player i didn't feel completely lost in the mechanics as the 2 main ones (player and units) interact but never clash with each other. The players/ units designs are unique and really give the feel that time and passion was implemented. Some thought was also put into the tool-tips with the lore.

Now onto the reason i don't recommend this game, this game has been slowly dying and hemorrhaging player counts for years now. The choice to split the pve and pvp components up exacerbated this already serious problem by diving the player counts into was is basically two separate games. This means that its difficult to find any players at all, even maxed out players who kick your ass in two seconds flat have all left to other games. Even before then in the "glory days" of the this game the monetization was awful even by free moba standard. The ultimate series is the most obvious example, given you a GLARING advantage over people not willing to fork over the cash. They even have a in-game cash shop which requires hundreds of dollars to gain access to through the VIP tokens. All of which is a desperate attempt to get whales to stick to this game. Do not get sucked in by the pretty collars, there is no way on earth to obtain most of the items without forking over actual money.

Also, ♥♥♥♥ the alpha/beta striker. artificial scarcity is scummy and awful.

EDIT: 2024 the game has been soft rebooted and now plans on slowly adding pve back to this branch and setting the game up to encourge pvp rather than force it. Im amazed this is still alive but so far the changes made have been nice.

The ultimate series is purely cosmetic. Wastelands also give plenty of diamonds if you do end up wanting to purchase any of the ultimate units though.
