Restarted this game as many times as Skyrim and still enjoy it.

I thought this game was going to be another cheap platformer I received in a bundle and will never play but I was pleasently surprised to find you're playing a 3D physics game and using your analog stick to 'slither' like the snake. However, the novelty of the slither feature wears off quickly and made me frustrated trying to get the collectables but otherwise a nice game I will play to pass some time.

2018 update: Still doesn't work.

Can't even play this game. I tried posting in the forums and that didn't help at all. I give up trying to make this game work.

Early Access Review
Just a way to waste time honestly. It's free and I often forget I even started playing this game so it just sits for days or even a week or more before I open it again to waste 3 minutes. It's not horrible and beats doing nothing.

TL;DR: I really love this game but after buying a new computer I've discovered that this game can be a pain in the butt to get working. IF you can get this game to work, it's worth picking up on a sale.

I'm trying to 100% this game on my 2nd play through but I'm softlocked at the alienship because using the probe or interacting with the shiny things you shoot makes my screen solid white and unplayable. I can only get this game working when I delete the config file but deleting it prompts the white screen issue. My first install worked perfectly but the several since then have not. This game is hit or miss.

I can't really add much to this review that others haven't mentioned like the great RPG elements, episode easter eggs, and customization. This game is honestly fantastic, I just wish it worked all the time.

I love this series, I never managed to play the first one so I'm starting here but I really enjoy it. My only complaints are small ones like the lack of controller support from DS3 or DS4 but it's solved by using tools you can find on the interwebs and key binding help. If you choose to use a controller it is a bit hard to understand quick time event prompts because they're all letters or mouse which, again, can be fixed with a download. I haven't had any problems with this game crashing and I have a fairly crappy computer and for anyone who plays any game at all you know you should save often because feces happens so even if you experience crashes you'll be okay.

I would strongly suggest to wait until a sale to get the entire franchise and DLC with the games because you will save a ton and if you decide you hate it, you're not wasting much $$$.

First and foremost, I paid 50 cents for this game and seeing its price tag of $20 blows my mind. This game looks okay but there's so much that needs to be fixed for it to be worth that much.

First off, when you first load the game, on my computer, it's laggy and every single cut scene is too. My very first time playing this game I got stuck trying to jump and ended up lodged between the moveable rock cube and a ledge, so I restarted. Every jumping action has to be performed so perfect otherwise you get stuck and have to smash buttons until you finally get unstuck or sometimes you don't actually get stuck on something, you just 'freeze' mid animation but you can still turn.

Fighting is 'meh', you can always find health but the block action doesn't work with or without a shield nor does the staggering. All the controls are a bit wonky and controller support is a lie. The only controller I managed to get to work properly was a wired 360 controller, not a DS4 wired via usb or a 3rd party gaming controller. I haven't got very far into the game but I did manage to do a couple quests and from what I've seen, all the quests can be completed prior to even talking to quest giving characters. For example, fixing objects or talking to certain people will prompt events that happen without even having the quest and you can complete them which makes it bascially useless to follow a story because after you finish whatever you just completed you can just go talk to people with quests and skip through all the story of what you were SUPPOSE to do and just collect a reward.

Also, this is a huge thing for me but I quit solely on the reason of being killed by an enemy who doesn't have a reset point and will follow you across a map and I just so happen to pass by an NPC. If you haven't played this game then you should take note that every single NPC you pass will automatically stop you to instigate conversation regardless if you're in combat or not, which is why I died. This game has potential but it needs a lot of work to make it great, it's not horrible, it's actually playable even though its annoying and buggy but definitely not worth the price.

Tl;dr
Reasons I would pass
  • Slow/Laggy cutscenes
  • Bugs, so many little bugs
  • Needs a lot of polishing for price
I did get this game for $0.50 so I'm no super angry and I might try to play it again but I wouldn't advise buying full price nor expecting a lot.

Finished the game on Xbox, decided to replay on pc. Graphics are definitely different than most shooters and there's more comedy than serious moments. Controls are a bit weird and if you ever leave the game for lengthy periods you might as well start over.

Open world adventure with a lot of quests and multiple choices. I keep restarting and I've never finished the game but I've always found something different to do. Tons of mods that also add story and side quests. Definitely worth buying.

I literally leave this game alone for months at a time then open and collect profits.
