Pretty fun game. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the narrator is fantastic. Certain parts are fairly dumbed down compared to what you would expect in a typical RTS, but I don't consider that a bad thing (in fact I would say it works great in this kind of game). Your minions are mostly automated and will do their jobs and train themselves but as the underlord you can of course micro them as much as you want. I also find the idea of you as the dungeon master having a mana bar as a resource to cast spells, build defences, and hire workers pretty unique as well.

Now that's not to say the game doesn't have some problems. Even though your minions are autonomous they are sometimes kind of stupid and don't sleep, eat, or get their paycheck quick enough and you'll often get messages that they're unhappy. This can usually be solved by just clicking on them and dropping them into the area they are lacking in but I don't really think you should have to do that when you don't have them assigned to anything.

The worker flag is kind of irritating too because you can either force all workers to work on an area (sometimes I want like 2-3 still working on the other side) or you can let them decide what to prioritize and sometimes they'll just dig walls or run off to another task instead of placing all the floor tiles down while I'm waiting to make a room. Note that this may just be me not being good enough at the game to figure out how to assign workers properly.

The economy system is kind of wierd too. You get unlimited gold from workers mining these "gold shrines" which are big rectangular boxes. I think if maybe gold acted like mana where you could mine a big chunk of it, but it wouldn't start recharging until you stopped mining it for awhile it might be better? I'm not sure. This isn't really a major complaint but it's something I dislike.

Overall, the game does have a number of issues, but nearly all of them can be overlooked or are very minor. I do highly recommend trying out War for the Overworld because it does feel really unique to play as an actual bad guy for once. The gameplay is solid and so far the campaign has been a very enjoyable experience.
