While I do have fun-ish playing this game, I can't actually recommend that others play it in it's current state. Actually making it through all four activities in a run seems like a borderline impossible task due to the sheer overwhelming number of negative/penalty mechanics that the player is faced with: low average health, no armor, high damage from enemies, low relative damage for most weapons, low ammo counts (you basically can't use your primary weapon regularly unless you find a scavenger perk for ammo because of how little you are given even with ammo capacity perks, but you start with like 918 rounds of secondary ammo,) you have to earn your abilities aside from your ultra, no sprinting unless you pick a hero with an exosuit, and this is all before we get to the concept of "Contamination Level", which for each time it increases by one level, your team is given a new random global hazard to deal with (random airstrikes, hurty things that follow you, enemies get buffed, enemies get explosive ammo, etc.)

It's a well put together game, responsive controls, good shooting mechanics, etc. Everything you'd expect from a clean modern shooter, just the co-op experience is so overwhelmingly negative that it rarely feels rewarding.

If you like doing the exact same thing over, and over, and over again with little to no meaningful variation, a FOV that is unadjustable and keeps you from seeing anything useful to offset a inexplicably terrible navigation system, and logically incoherent worldbuilding this game is for you. Otherwise don't be like me and spend $30 on a game only to figure all this out well after the refund period.

This game has no tutorial and no real documentation of how to play, and is virtually impossible to play as a result in it's current state.

Skullgirls was almost an amazing game. Almost.

Killer art, great soundtrack, memorable characters, interesting story.

Gameplay? They built this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ exactly like MvC2, having learned next to nothing from that tragedy. *facepalm*

I'd honestly still get it to enjoy as a single player/causal experience, but it's frankly just not fun as a competitive multiplayer game, because infinite combo games aren't fun unless you've been playing them for eons.
