Space pirates spread slurs in this cooperative multiplayer shooter. Great with friends, good with PC randoms, and god awful with console players.

For $7 you can skip your screw-my-wallet-Starbucks, play this AND NOT hate yourself afterwards.

If Sea of Thieves was a combat multiplayer shooter in space. Some balance issue sprinkles, and the progression system could have baked for longer, but all in all this is a damn great cake and I'm eating it on July 22nd!

Doubtlessly a beautiful map.

Doubtlessly not worth almost 30 dollars. Especially since it's a re-skin. Especially since they gave streamers special treatment and not people who lost their PAID Livonia DLC to a gamey, freebie offer to get a few thousand more players in circulation. Especially since they have not released a meaningful gameplay update to the game since...never...they never have. Rust gets more new content and quality of life updates in 2 months than DayZ Standalone has gotten since it released over 10 BLOODY YEARS AGO.

Do not buy this until they A) bring the price down and B) make the changes the community has been asking for for a DECADE. Pathetic.

Chivalry 2 is a rare title. The base of the game is excellent; with amazing mechanics and game balance, high visual fidelity, generally good or even great DLC, and a fable setting worth following to the bitter end. If you're simply wondering if purchasing Chivalry 2 is worthwhile, the answer is unequivocally yes.

However, in an almost laughable and paradoxical way, the developers can and perhaps still are pretty damn ignorant and cheap. Almost all of the community feedback of importance - a better Social platform, bug and exploit fixes, improved anti-cheat, moderated duel servers, better servers (30hz was not enough 15 years ago, let alone in 2024) etc. - was rarely, if ever, acted on while the game was still fully live-service. Sure, servers are still online and events do still happen, but the game no longer receives full development priority and in my opinion, it never did after launch. And that's not even the long story, which is far more damning. If you're looking to support a development team that isn't run by sharks, then I'd reconsider my initial statement.

Overall, Chivalry 2 constitutes the very best live-service, multiplayer medieval melee slasher experience I have encountered, but that does not excuse its shortcomings - it exaggerates them. Let's hope Torn Banner starts to care more about its most loyal customers next time.

Early Access Review
Firstly, if you served in Fallujah, the wider Iraq War, or in any other combat theater - this review should largely be dismissed. Thank you for your service and note that, as someone that did not serve, everything I say should absolutely come second to your own impressions.

To that end, I think this game has THE BEST initial load screen I have ever seen, all offense to other developers intended. You should be able to see and appreciate why I say this on your own, but if you don't; it's because I value the broad-strokes background provided in advance of actually being able to play the game. Not enough people value the gravity of the circumstances, let alone the specific, gruesome reality, of why Fallujah was as consequential and bloody as it was. I'm very glad to see that the developers have enshrined this in the game at a civilian-level (politics and overarching strategies aside) for all players, regardless of their familiarity with Fallujah, to comprehend and remember.

Beyond the load screen, which is why you're reading this now, this game feels quite good. The sound and mechanics are incredibly smooth for a Tac-FPS/Mil-sim game of this caliber, but I still think there is room for refinement. The game definitely has rough edges and bugs, but I'm not going to comment on those since a good many others already have and honestly, they aren't game-breaking or an imposition to the experience itself.

Specifically, I think the explosions, relative to other gunfire and sounds, could be increased a tad. It may be more realistic the way it is now, but for the sake of gameplay a change would make for a stark and meaningful improvement. I also think the AI is a little bit all over the place. Most of the AI are genuinely aloof, but some others can path-find directly to your head through objects. It isn't much of a bother to me personally but I'm echoing the feedback of others for the sake of prompting revision. Lastly, I think more gameplay mechanics and customization would benefit the user experience. I am beyond sure this is something that will be considered, to an extent, but being able to select a role/loadout [NOT COD attachments etc.] in your team would help players really sink into the experience. These are just a few of my initial impressions and recommendations, and I have great faith in the developers to keep leading a great project.

Overall, this is an excellent Early Access release and I look forward to seeing what Highwire and Victura come up with as the title progresses. 8/10.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection holds a special place in my heart. Halo 3 was my first FPS gaming experience, and this ensemble revitalizes many of my fond memories playing with friends and family. The collection's game-play, remastered graphics, and lore effectively rejuvenate my love of the Halo franchise, and I am glad that 343 Studios committed to bringing these games to PC users. I cannot recommend this product more highly (especially if you enjoyed the series in the past and appreciate the ongoing work of the developers).

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is, by far and any measure, my favorite game of all time. The story, lore, visual integrity and gameplay make this installment in the Elder Scrolls series (soon to be saga) the penultimate virtual experience for anyone in search of action, adventure and beauty. In sum, I could not recommend this Bethesda product more highly, and am certainly looking forward to the release of its successor in a few years time.
