It's a unique take on the factory builder genre. Building on a spherical grid with dynamic day/night cycles, a variety of different world types, and a growing sense of scale really set it apart. It's very satisfying watching they sky fill with the fruits of your labor, allowing you more energy to make it go faster. The devs have been actively developing it, keeping players in the loop for what's next for early access. The recent addition of the Dark Fog and combat systems feel well thought out, and not just tacked on to the original peaceful game.

The writing has all the subtly of a brick to the face, but the core gameplay loop is really relaxing and nice.

Dwarf Fortress is one of the granddaddies of video games. It's been in development since 2002, marking the Steam release of 20 years of development. It's inspired other classic games, like Minecraft and Rimworld, and has told wonderful stories and terrible defeats.

I've been playing DF for the better part of a decade now, I supported Tarn before and during his patreon years. I'm more than happy to buy it on Steam to support even more years of development. The UI for the steam release is a pleasant upgrade, with no loss of depth from the original releases. The tutorials are nice, but probably not nearly enough to explain the depth of some of the mechanics in the game. The soundtrack is a wonderful addition.

Losing is !!!FUN!!! and I can't wait to lose some more.

Probably the only game that'll ever be able to follow in the footsteps of Dwarf Fortress. Between in insane breadth of different systems and the massive mod community, you'll never be able to guess what's going to happen next. Perfect for keeping on your toes, and keeping drama flowing.

The game is pretty good, with a lot of depth to explore and a lot of different options for dealing with issues.

The tutorial is fairly barebones, with the assumption that you've played a grand strat before. However, if you've played a grand strat, a lot of the mechanics are fairly similar to other popular offerings, and should be easy to pick up.

From the ashes of deprevaty rises the phoenix of quality. How else to describe The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe?

Such a revolutionary step forward in the lineage of one of the most beloved video game properties of all time! The additions and changes made to this expansion will surely resonate in the annals of the history of all media ever made.

It is perhaps true to say that no mistakes are ever forever etched in stone, for the stone into which The Stanley Parable was carved has itself been transmuted, offering a message of hope to those who have ever erred in their judgement. You are not beyond redemption. You may change, and you may become more, so much more than you were before.

If there is any message to be taken from the Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, it is this:

What a fortune, a privilege, a joy it is to have had such an experience. It leaves me hopeful that as a community – as a world, there is time for us to become our greatest selves, as great as we ever could dream of in our wildest, most ambitious visions for a brighter future.

Fun little game with a solid afternoon of story. The variety of tools are nice, and the drawing tablet support makes it feel responsive. I'd kill for this to get VR support so I can fling paint everywhere with gusto, but the game is solid as is.

Solid DLC at a great price, adding plenty of new variety to the game through characters, game modes, items, monsters, and maps.
