Let me start off by saying that this is the single best game to ever exist in the history of gaming, and I love it so much I've played it for countless hours on various platforms, and don't even get me started on how much FiveM I've played.

So why the negative review? Because their server's has almost no security what so ever. You can litterally grab someone ip with a 5 dollar mod menu. They have had 11 years to fix this issue and still hasn't.

Don't play this game without a VPN if you care about your dox.

Don't buy this game.

Not gonna lie, the concept of this game is fantastic and makes it intriguing to buy. But it is waaaaaaaay to much of a grind, this isn't some pirate game where you just sail your ship and defeat enemies, I mean it is, but that's not what you're going to get to do.

So I started playing this game during the Ugandan phase and have recently gotten back to it, but in VR this time. The game does a great job in providing a mix of immersive atmospheres for you to meet new people and hangout in different ways.

The community is big, which means that you will encounter both good and bad people. I would say the majority of good people in this game are people that are not as forthgoing in real life and get to express themselves virtually instead of real life, and seeing peoples other side fascinates me personally.

You can have some pretty serious conversations with all kinds of people in this game, which is why people play it so much I'm assuming.

HOWEVER the game has an absurd amount of satanism. 99% of all avatars have something that represents satan. I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that most characters are sexualized.

Because of this I find it a bit weird playing as a Christian, but all I have to do is to really don't worry about it, which works for me. Just keep that in mind if you are part of any religious group (that isn't satanism)

**Takes deep breath**
It’s difficult to put into words just how profoundly this game has impacted my life, and the lives of many others. Where do I even begin? It all started back in 2015 when a friend of mine told me he had bought a game called Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. I went to his place, sat down, and played some deathmatch. At first, it didn’t stand out much, especially since I was more into Call of Duty at the time. However, my friend insisted for weeks that I should buy the game and assured me I wouldn’t regret it. Eventually, I caved in and made the purchase.

Just an hour after buying the game, I received a call from my mom. My dad had suffered a heart attack. I froze. I couldn't move until my mom rushed me into the car. I was in such shock that I couldn’t speak. When we arrived at the hospital, I was relieved to find my dad alive and conscious. I hugged him and couldn’t stop crying. Thankfully, by the end of the week, he was recovering well.

The very next day, my friend introduced me to a server called Surfburken. It was a bunnyhopping server, though neither of us knew how to bunnyhop at the time. I quickly did some research, found a tutorial video online, and began practicing. Within two weeks, I had completed my first MG map, and from that point on, I was hooked. I started playing on Surfburken for over 7 hours a day, immersing myself in the art of bunnyhopping. After school, my routine was simple: bhop until I fell asleep. The community on Surfburken was a mix of toxicity, chill vibes, and genuine camaraderie—something I’ll never forget.

Bunnyhopping became a daily obsession. I reached 100 hours in the game without even touching a single ranked match. Around this time, an old friend added me on Steam, and I introduced him to bhopping. It took him about 30 minutes to get the hang of it and a month to finish his first map. He, too, fell in love with the Surfburken community, and soon, we were playing together for hundreds of hours. When he transferred to my school, we introduced bhopping to more people. It became our after-school routine to play Surfburken together.

We all improved significantly, mastering different styles like sideways, backwards, and traditional bhopping. Then one day, one of my friends set a world record. It was a huge moment for all of us, and we couldn’t stop talking about it.

This is just a glimpse of my three years on Surfburken. During that time, I made new friends, experienced highs and lows, learned valuable lessons, and became deeply connected to the community. I still struggle to put into words the joy I felt from playing on Surfburken, and the sense of loss I experienced when the servers were taken down. There’s truly no other community like it. The servers themselves weren’t extraordinary, but the people made it unforgettable.

After Surfburken shut down, my time on CS dwindled. I don’t enjoy the game as much anymore, though I still play occasionally. However, Surfburken will always hold a very, very special place in my heart
