I played SMT Persona 4 last spring/summer and that was my introduction to this series. I absolutely loved that game, so when Golden came to Steam later on I picked it up assuming it was just going to have some "enhanced water textures" level of additions to make it a better version. What I was met with was something that felt nostalgic and foreign at the same time. Persona 4 Golden makes numerable additions or enhancements over SMTP4 that elevate the game so much it feels like I'm playing it for the first time again.

For those of you who haven't played a Persona game before, these games are some of the best games you might ever pick up, and if you aren't that big on RPGs, you will still likely fall in love with all that this game has to offer. Persona 4 Golden offers a cast that feels large but intimate simultaneously. The art direction is cheerful but that never tramples the emotional or down right dark moments in the game. The music is sublime, so much so that even the instrumentals really pull something out of me when I listen to them. Over the time that you play this game, you really come to feel attached to Inaba and it makes for a bittersweet goodbye. This is one of my favorite games of all time and I highly recommend it to anyone thinking about buying it.
