If you have ever played games like Rimworld, Gnomoria, etc, this is the game that made all of those possible.

I cannot express how much time I have put into DF first iteration and how excited I am for this version. I am fairly certain my life will now collapse as I refuse to take myself away from the PC.
I will see you all on the other side of this sock spiral.

UPDATE:

On a cold winter morning an Ettin invaded my fort from the edge of the map. My dwarves quickly jumped into action and took care of the ettin with no problem. However, my dwarves had a hidden friend among their ranks, a necrodorf. He found the ettin corpse quite intriguing and proceeded to resurrect it to make himself a new playmate.
Only a few days passed until the ettin proceeded to take out his undead rage upon my colony. 4 dorfs died before the ettin was subdued. This simply made my necrodorf more excited as he proceeded to repeatedly res the fallen dorfs and ettin. This enraged the rest of my fort who then proceeded to be attacked by the undead and in an attempt to stop the relentless undead, they tore their own noses off and used them as ranged weapons.

While this all happened a full moon came and a wereporcupine transformed from one of the nake elves that were in my tavern and proceeded to start devouring the dorfs. He managed to slice open the necrodorfs stomach who then began running into the fort. All the while his entrails dragged upon the floor behind him. But I bet youre wondering if he is carrying anything, well he is! What is he carrying? A lower spine, right hip, left hip, left foot, and right foot. None of which belong to him.
As he was chased he ripped off hi nose to use as a missile then tore off his own arm to use as a mace.
So why was this dorf so excited about the ettin? Well turns out, with his family were all ettins and he was raised by ettins, which is a fact he regaled upon his dying breaths to a nearby dorf who was terrified so much he couldn't move.
His final act? To cast rot on a dead donkey corpse which then proceeded to infect the entire fort with miasma. All the animals and dorfs then died.

A trade caravan arrived a few months later, and managed to find a single female child dorf hiding in a locked room. They released her from the room and she told the trade caravan what happened. They were all terrified and started to pack up to leave the fort immediately. As they were leaving the map, one of the necrodorf’s ettin parents arrived and proceeded to wipe the trade caravan from the mortal coil. The fort has been retired and written down as a success.

s a perfect example of what a casual, but deep and complex game can be and should be. If you like rune factory, or the classic harvest moon games, this game is 150% for you.

This game is a beautiful throw back to gems such as Baulders game and Never winter nights. Obsidian outdid themselves with this game. The gameplay is fun and challenging, the story is rich and very immersive. Highly recommend this game.
