Reseña de Acceso anticipado
I'll preface this by saying that I don't regret buying the game and that I do believe most people will get some hours of entertainment out of this. More than that - I also believe the game's potential could be expanded upon if the devs feel like it (which is always a gamble).

However, using gen Z (or gen alpha - I can't keep track) terminology - it's giving early No Man's Sky.
The game grabs aspects from pokemon, survival games and colony games, but none of those aspects are really well done.

The combat is extremely repetitive, simple and boring. Combined with poor pathfinding of enemies and alies as well as early access glitches and you've got yourself a mob slayer you just slice through. (I am playing on normal, but I feel like the harder difficulty would make it longer, not more fun)

The survival aspect of dealing with the temperature and hunger is nothing more than a little inventory inconvenience.

The base management will probably end up being the most decent aspect of the game once they fix pathfinding so that your pokemon won't get stuck falling down a cliff and once the raids become more challenging.

But my main issue is the same one we all had with no man's sky. It lacks purpose.

For now I would not recomend this game. I do hope they fix the bugs, improve combat and add some purpose to the game in the form of quests or a better RPG skill system, or a sense of actually having to try to survive against the pokemon, enemies and elements, but I have my doubts.

PART3:
4. Repetitiveness of combat.
This isn't a game breaking experience. Repetitive combat mechanics as some have pointed out - are a very common occurance in video games and often that is not an issue. Not every game needs souls like combat mechanics, as much of the unexpected tinkering magic as a game like Noita, or the diversity of skills and abilities like PoE, but if combat is one of the core elements of a game you want to be able to enjoy it and not feel stale.

5. Lack of purpose.
Look, I wouldn't call this a story driven game. It's a playground for you to use the mechanics to create your own fun. And that is absolutely OK. It could be because I have played a bunch of Kenshi, Rimworld, a survival game here and there and older pokemon titles. But for me this playground just doesn't offer enough yet. I do hope it does eventually, but for now that's just my opinion and feel.

Hope this helps.

P.S. I do not work for Nintendo, but am totally looking for a new job. :D

PART2:
2. It being early access.
Perhaps I did not outline this clearly enough in my review, but for the very reason that the game is in early access I do hope that they expand on the mechanics, depth and fix the bugs. I do not bash it for it. I warn people to remember that early access titles don't always come through on their potential.

3. NMS vibes.
It is just that - vibes. Vibes of the game lacking in character and depth. Vibes in the grind lacking purpose. It is no way a comparison between the horrid marketing/hype train of NMS and delivery.

PART1:
Alright, I really didn't expect this review to get any attention let alone 8 pages of comments worth of it. But since I have cought wind of it I will add just a tiny bit of context.

IT IS MY OPINION. I am by no means a video game journalist or game dev my self.

Also I chose not to expand on every aspect mentioned in my review, because that's the way I wanted it. A medium length overview of my opinion, not a 5 page essay on the matter.

Now with that out of the way, I will address some of the issues with what I have said and give a slightly longer description.

1. This being a negative review.
I don't complain about the game. I restate what I said in my original review - I got some enjoyment out of it and I believe so will most people. The only reason for the thumbs down is that in it's current state I find it lacking and I am prepared to revisit this opinion while checking the game out during it's developement through the early access stage.

@TychoMycho Not everyone who disagrees with your opinion on a game is a jester farmer. :steamfacepalm:

If you are only allowed to give positive reviews to games in EA, you can also switch off the review function for EA games.

EA games can and may also receive negative reviews and no player has to justify the reasons why they personally don't like the game at the moment.

When writing the review, it was clear to the writer that it was an EA game and it was also clear to every reader of the review that this was an EA game.

What we don't need is constant reminders that it's an EA game, because that's hard to miss.

A review evaluates the current status of the game and not the status it may have at some point.

That's a good thing, because not all players want to support an EA game at an early stage and therefore such reviews help with the purchase recommendation.

There are also EA games that have decent content early on and are quite stable. That could have been the case with this game, you only know that through testing or feedback.

To all the people saying 'why are you being hard on an early access game'. Well, because it's very common to not recommend games that have typical early access problems in their current state. If a game, hypothetically, is riddled with bugs and is in early access, I want someone to warn me that the game is not in a good state and to wait until it is more polished. People attacking this review are weird.

"i am only playing on normal mode and the enemies are too easy"
LMAO

just to understand ... did you compare an early access game (I never heard of before the EA launch) to a severely hyped and "complete" game, and still made it a negative review? the game is like 4 days out, of course there are bugs. of course there are features missing. this is not advertised as finished, so why are you treating it as such? just asking questions lol

wasn't "early no man's sky" preorder for 50 bucks? this is hardly the same thing
