Warhammer Vermintide 2 isn't just a 4 player coop game where you just hold down the attack button and maul your way out of hordes of enemies brainlessly, it’s a complicated, satisfying and addictive game which takes skill and acknowledgment of your surroundings to actually complete a level.

Its combat feels smooth, every swing you take feels pretty responsive and satisfying. There are various weapons at your disposal which could cater to your very specific needs, from dual swords to repeater handguns, which every “heroes” has their own unique set of gear and special abilities to further improve the efficiency of the way you play. Other than running and gunning/slashing, there’s also stealth in this game where there are instances that a group of harder enemies patrolling around the map, you could either wait for them to walk past you or sneak by them, preventing any additional damage to yourself and your team. There’s also these secret collectables called tomes and grimoires, both of which are hidden throughout the map. These give you more experience after progressing a certain level, and upgrades your reward for completing a quest, which are basically loot boxes that give you better gear and loot that aren’t obtainable through any currency, they’re heavily RNG based but they’ll provide better rewards for harder difficulties and depending on how much collectables you’ve obtained.

There are a large varity of enemies, including a number of special enemies that deals different attacks, including a few bosses in each map. All of which could end you and your teammates and sending you back to the main hub.

Its voice acting and music feels realistic, and the sound effects are just on par if not better. You could hear the sound of swords clanging onto shields, the casual conversations of the different characters and the music slowly playing in the background as a large horde of enemies start charging at you, causing chaos while you and your teammates happily slice through them.

The environment is absolutely superb, from the crumbling castles and ruins to the tall wheat fields which the dwarf definitely has no disadvantage whatsoever, its foggy effects and lighting make the places look dark and grim, cinders from burnt houses still going up to the grey lifeless sky, as well as corpses of humanoid creatures lying down on the ground motionless. All of which draws out that the world is ending and all hope is lost, ruled and conquered by enemies and tyrants, but also makes you admire its surroundings of the effort put into them.

All in all, Warhammer Vermintide 2 is a great game, especially with friends and even with randoms you just met a few seconds ago. Considering this game being this cheap in comparison with other AAA titles out there and none "pay to win" mechanics, it is a must buy for anyone who likes slashing through hordes of enemies with cooperative and strategic gameplay, but also enjoy the dark and gritty atmosphere of its detailed world. I give "Warhammer Vermintide 2" a 8 out of 10.
Sigmar bless this ravaged game.
