Did PvE get scrapped? Yes. Does it have atrocious prices (that some gladly pay) for skins? Absolutely. Does it have a massive review bombing lemming train surrounding it? Textbook example. Not sure what they're hoping to accomplish at this point other than joining in on the punching bag train.

Is the game excellent, fun and really polished? Absolutely.

I have 1800+ hours through Battle.net and played since the Overwatch 1 closed beta. I did find the changes from OW to OW2 to be jarring and I didn't play it for a season or two. I gave it another shot, gave the changes a chance, and now I like it and find far less things irritating than I did in OW1.

Now I play mostly Quick Play. I prefer Competitive for the quality of the matches, but I have young kids and need to be available at all times. 10-15 minute matches here and there is perfect for me.

The game's optimization is beyond excellent. I have a GTX 970. My son plays with me from time to time on a card worse than mine, and with the right settings that doesn't at all look bad we both get smooth framerates.

My biggest gripe: Too many control point maps. Nepal, Peelios, etc. I would have loved to see them reimagined as Flashpoint maps some day. They take too long and cater almost only to a certain chaotic play style. Give me Paris over Ilios any day.
