Early Access Review
Nightingale had an amazing setting and concept on release, but there was quite a bit that brought the experience down, to the point where I would have told people to pass on it, but watch how it develops.

The recent, and easily the largest update, Realms Rebuilt has turned that around. The devs have listened to the player base and addressed and delivered on pretty much every criticism the game has received during early access.

With more of these updates, this game will easily become be one of the best survival games on the market. Needless to say I highly recommend a purchase now.

Yet another example of Steam really needing a 'neutral' recommendation. The game is a melting pot of ideas, and when it clicks, it's a lot of fun. Unfortunately it's bought down by technical issues and a gameplay loop suffering from some terrible pacing. The game needs some serious tweaking on both ends before a recommendation. To give the devs credit though, they have been quick on the updates. 3 within the first day, with what I'm guessing the first of many balance updates already outlined

With all that being said, this game is definitely a niche title, even if it's vastly improved, I can see why people won't get in to it, but there is something here for a certain crowd. Giving it a thumbs up right now due to its competitive price point, and despite the issues I'm personally having fun.

Somehow, with how goofy the premise is, and how... 'scammy' this had the potential to be, it's actually released.... and it's actually good.

Gonna be a wild ride through early access if they keep the updates coming.

For the fans of the franchise, it's better then 4 and 5, but still not as good as the earlier titles.

For those new to Star Ocean, prepare for noticeable budget limitations. Star Ocean has always been an fairly niche JRPG series, and with it comes that budget jank. Also expect a classic Star Ocean bait and switch. It's a series that touts itself as a sci fi, space opera, but in reality the vast majority of the games are set on 'Under developed' planets, which are typical fantasy/medieval planets.

The highlight of the games though, the combat, is solid. It's a fully 3D real time combat system with fairly robust combo/special customisation options, and there's extra layers to the combat, such as destroying enemy parts to disable attack and gain special resources, or the blindside/sudden attack mechanic.

Exploration is a big feature too, within the first hour or two of the game you get the ability to boost into the air, letting you reach high places or clear gaps. It's fun, and the open fields are large enough to accommodate the feature, but there's still a 'corridorr' feeling to them. There's invisible walls about, but they're fairly forgiving. I think it's more due to how each field seems like it's in the middle of a valley, at least in the beginning.

Bit too early to talk about plot or characters. They're not unlikable, it's all very trope-y though, and I don't think I'll ever be comfortable with lead male character design. Star Ocean is known for its private actions, which are special interactions you can have with party members that help build up your relationships, which I always appreciated, and are still here in this game.

As mentioned above, this clearly didn't have the budget the more popular JRPG franchises have, and the visuals are where it's most noticeable., They're not bad, but they're a bit last gen, and the locations I've been to, at least so far, are very generic. Knowing this franchise though, there will be some some pretty out there locations later in the game. Sound is neither here nor there. It's definitely serviceable, I just have a feeling after all is said and done there's not a track I'll end up remembering.

TL:DR - It's a good game, but it's made on a budget. Go in with that mind set, and I think you'll have a good time.

The Lego Star Wars game have always been incredibly solid, fun experiences.

Skywalker Saga does enough to keep the formula fresh, with its improvements to combat, puzzles, and open world hub design. There's a lot to see, do and collect, and locations you wouldn't think of seeing (Gungan City example) are now fully fledged explorable hubs.

Only point of contention I see are the missions have become much shorter in favour of the more open world approach the game has taken.

Overall, I'd say a must own for fans of Lego Star Wars, or Star Wars fans in general.

The comparisons to Subnautica and No Mans Sky are real. A very solid start to what could become an incredible sci fi survival game. Will be keeping a very close eye on the development of this project

From the perspective of someone who never used to get into Halo PVP, This is solid, Whatever they did to change the movement and TTK has turned this into something I can get into.

The battle/season pass however, one of the worst implementations of the system I've ever seen.... and I've seen a lot of battle passes.

A lot of comparisons to Factorio and Satisfactory, and they're all warranted, but this definitely has some Astroneers thrown into the mix too.

These are all good things. A fantastic start to what could be the next big 'factory builder'

More of a congratulations on 1.0 then an actual review....

But this is how you do early access. Amazing work by Ghost Ship and Coffee Stain. Thank you guys for a very successful, fun, engaging Dwarf em up!
