The ULTIMATE Detective Sandbox Game.
You are truly on your own when solving a case and there is many ways of solving one. Heck you don't even need to be a detective. At one point I completely ignored the case and just started breaking into safes and stealing their money and diamonds. Even after that you still don't need to do cases at all.
A guy paid me to break into some lady's apartment and throw loads of rubbish on the floor.
If you love games that are procedurally generated that offer endless repeatability you will love this game. The game is still very early access and it is already phenomenal.

EDIT: completed the game on one character and I will say that while this game still is amazing, there is no motives involved at all. This game will go from amazing to perfect and one of my favourite games off all time if you had to build up loads of evidence against a killer and eventually use that evidence in a trial. That way you will need to think about everything instead of what I started to do at the end of the game was just getting lazy and finding the
name of the murderer and where he lived and calling it a day.

Another thing that bugs me is there is no motives behind any of these murders. They just sort of happen. It would be great if you unravel a story behind each murder such as a noisy neighbour or a horrible boss.

There is a reason that its called portal and not paint. Playing a portal game without any portals is like running a marathon without any legs. This game is annoying as it keeps trying to 1up some of portals more memorable moments such as Wheatley and the opening but falling flat due to portal doing it better. It wouldn't bother me as much if it was a free mod but this is currently the only mod on steam that you actually have to pay for. I personally feel like £4 is asking too much but i'm pretty happy because I got it on sale for 80p.
In a few instances you are travelling between chambers for what feels like full minutes for no reason other than I assume flying through pipes is fun??
In some cases I found that the platforming was really precise and left me frustrated at falling into the water all the time. A problem that having portals you really don't have. Its clear that the ultimate design of the test chambers are made with portals in mind. It makes this even clearer when you revisit portions of the Portal 2 story.
Is this a bad game? No.
Times like this makes me want steam to have a more traditional 1-10 review system.
In the end I liked this more than I disliked it. Its more portal which I like.
One of the things the game does EXTREMELY Well and IS original is the "SPEED" chambers which is like a cross between portals gels with surfing from counter-strike sprinkled in. These chambers are perfect for the paint gun and is a big missed opportunity to focus the game more around them than straight up puzzles.
The game has a fantastic ending about 3/4 of the way through and then keeps going. The games actual two endings are pretty bad.

The game really shines when you import and play in your own hometown. It makes me laugh, sending a full armoured swat vans down your street to arrest a bike thief.

The amount of Mental Gymnastics these developers do in order to justify being more greedy is absolutely laughable. The game is good but not good enough to warrant a price increase.

After years of begging these guys to ACTUALLY give them money for such an amazing game. They finally begrudgingly added a donation button to their website. Yet the game is free.
Completely overhaul the game and add graphics, Yeah you can buy this version on steam but you can still play the text based version for free.
Its absolutely crazy that these guys took 20 years to let you actually buy the game.
