A shame this version has been removed from the store with multiplayer remaining down forever. The lighting is much more atmospheric in this version compared to the remaster

I haven't played this game in years, yet I think about it all the time.

The areas between the first and second bonfires are pretty cheap. Once you're over the hump it gets much more enjoyable!

The multiplayer is very fun. Some of the most fun I've had playing a shooter, and the sound design and fire rate of the guns feels really good. I have little to complain about gameplay wise, although I'd appreciate a playlist maker like in MCC.

The battle pass is horrendous. Possibly the worst progression system I have ever seen. Tie medals/wins to xp gains like all the previous games, remove filler layers to the pass that give challenge swaps/xp only. You could have the top score in a match and only get 50/1000 experience required for a level.

Does 343 really not have enough content to fill the progression system you have created? I know it's possible, one look at the shop could tell you that. On top of that, this week a second "free" event pass was added, where only 7 tiers of the pass are completable this week; the next oppertunity to earn rewards is in January and it will probably just be the next 7 levels. The game was delayed because of feedback about the quality of the game with the gameplay premiere last year, maybe the team should consider reevaluating the current state of the game, as I do not see myself playing this game for years like they seem to intend. I am not asking for another delay, only some consideration to the playerbase this franchise has built up for over a decade.

Let me make a one time purchase to access the multiplayer (like previous Halo releases) and you will have a satisfied customer.

I played the free trial for almost 40 hours before finally buying the game. There was still plenty to do but I wanted to play with friends and needed a subscription.
