Update: Gaijin has started to actually implement the changes in their roadmap, with silver lions being the most recent in a very positive direction. I'm changing my review to positive to recognize their efforts, better late than never.


2,300 hours later (plus more on the non-steam version)

Moments of happiness? Absolutely, without a doubt. The game will always hold a special place in my heart. The experiences I've had with my friends and exploring all the vehicles the game has to offer has been some of the most fun, truly.

The problem? I would never recommend this game, and never have to my friends. I recognize it's predatory marketing and absurd economy, where without an injection of cash, you stand no chance of progressing to any of the interesting more modern vehicles. (If you're into WW1 and early WW2 vehicles though, you might still stand to have a lot of fun as a free to play player).

If you're wanting to get into the game for the modern vehicles they constantly advertise and sponsor youtubers with, you're gonna need to spend some money, and spend a lot of time, even after giving away hundreds of dollars. Spare yourself your time. I'm already too far gone in the rabbit hole as a veteran.
