- Me, buying this game for the 4th time (PS3-PS4-PS5-PC)

The Last of Us truly is a masterpiece, easily one of my all time favorite games & I would absolutely recommend playing this game to anyone. However, as of launch day it runs terribly on PC. Using max CPU/GPU at all times, taking forever to install shaders, and overall poor optimization. I will update my review when they hopefully fix this issue.

UPDATE: The game does run better now than it did on launch, but you'll still need some pretty good hardware. Also expect to sit at the main menu waiting for shaders to install.

I understand that the optimalization on PC is not great but I don't think you should give the game a negative review just because of that. It just ruins the reviews of a masterpiece game.

What are your specs? AMD graphics cards and motherboards have issues playing Playstation games. I ran into the same issue with Horizon Zero Dawn, never loads the shaders.

Huge update today following a small update that addressed shading and crashing along with many other problems. There are going to be some happy gamers today, and some impatient players that hastily uninstalled. Time to reinstall for sure.

Shaders did take a while to download but I just let them download while I played, I only hit a few parts where I had to wait for it to load while I was downloading the shaders, but other than that my pc is running it perfectly fine. Maybe its your pc?

i mean what do u expect it's a playstation port, brought to steam, ofc it's gonna be bad on first release, look at gta..... released a year later. It's the thought of us pc gamers, that count, now how it performs,
