Just finished this great game! It's what happens when you combine a really fun movement system with a relaxing exploration game, and I enjoyed the experience the whole way through.

It really grabbed me and didn't let go for reasons I can't quite put my finger on - something to do with the freedom of movement through such pretty environments, I think.

Disappointing lack of polish. Braindead unit AI that can't even path itself correctly in a wide-open desert. Minutes-long load times for a wide-open desert, even between stages - what are you loading? I have the exact same units in both maps. Frustrating interface, really dull and clearly scripted singleplayer levels.

Short, sweet, simple. Shows how much you can do with monocolor tiles and a single action button.
Don't watch the trailer all the way through, if you can help it, it spoils the ending :)

I really wanted to like SOMA - I loved the tone of the live-action teasers for the game, and have avoided spoilers for it in anticipation.

However, just finishing it (or rather, playing 2/3s of it, tiring of it, and watching the rest), it doesn't live up to my expectations. The story falls flat, only hitting a few interesting notes in the whole 8-hour experience. The gameplay is simplistic and repetitive, and every time a computer screen said "INSUFFICIENT POWER" or "PLEASE INSERT 3 THINGS" I'd roll my eyes and go pixel-hunting again.

To the game's credit, the visual and audio design is superb, selling the atmosphere and the scares very well. The world the game builds is an interesting one, albeit lacking in the detail I so badly wanted it to have. I was intrigued, but ultimately let down.

I feel like what's here in this game was maybe half or a third of what I had hoped it would be, stretched out over three times as much actual playtime as it warranted.

I will absolutely be looking out for Frictional's next game, but as for this one, it really didn't live up to my expectation.

Undertale is an RPG that is surprising, charming, and a joy to play all the way through. If you're not usually a fan of RPG's, this one is different enough to be worth your attention. If you're a huge RPG fan, this one subverts your expectations time and time again to make it a truly unique and self-aware experience.

The soundtrack is amazing, as well. Varied and emotionally charged throughout.

This game is without a doubt one of the top ten games ever developed by a dog.

Best Sonic game since Sonic 2. If you liked the classic Genesis Sonic games, you'll probably like this one too.

This game is pretty great - if you like shooty-action-platformers, you should absolutely give it a play! I've put 20+ hours into it, which is awesome for a $10 game.

This game is a ton of fun, very pretty, and quite well designed. Very impressive considering it was predominantly a one-man effort! Recommended for anyone who enjoys action-platformers.

I'd absolutely recommend Gone Home. It tells a story in a way that only a game really could, and it's something not quite like anything else I've ever seen. It's also full of wonderful nostalgia if you're old enough to remember growing up in the 90's. The game isn't long, but it's also exactly the length it needs to be. Grab it on sale if you're concerned about that :)
