Worth the time to check out. Jammin tunes, controls are brain-bending for me but I can see how there's a flow state in there once I get used to it.

Color me interested in ID 2000 - though I do kinda think 1999 sounds more futuristic these days...

Like a shiny little diamond. Strong recommendation, especially at two bucks right now!

Elevator pitch: Devil Daggers, but bigger, with adorable robots.

Everything I've seen up through Wave 20 (so far) has been delightful, and the gameplay is challenging and satisfying. ARMORED HEAD gives you more time to think than Devil Daggers, and it has a lot more going on in the arena in terms of both geometry and interactions. You get a variety of satisfying weapons, too. Still, the ultimate purpose is the same - hang out in an arena that wants to kill you, for no particular reason.

I'm not sure I've played a horde shooter with this much mobility and open space before - combat has an interesting flow to it, where you get some distance and feel safe for a moment, only to have the horde catch up and send you fleeing again. All while you're raining grenades on it. It makes for an addictive experience!

What everybody else said. It's exactly what it says on the tin.

It's not a game, but it is very fun to play. It's a toy, and a little inspiration generator.

If you want a relaxing little doodling toy and can spare the six bucks, look no further.

Fun game! Combat presents a nice puzzle every time, and the art is gorgeous. Sound and music were also top-notch.

A slick presentation can't hide a few problems, though:

The UI usability is bad. Navigating the menus and (especially) understanding who's doing what in combat is needlessly difficult and tedious. It took me way too long to figure out you can cancel an order that's already given, because you have to click on the characters *on the field* and not anywhere else. The button to do so doesn't show up unless you hover a busy character.

The writing's self-aware enough to be funny without overdoing it, and has some neat sci-fi ideas tucked in there as well.

The game doesn't feel quite finished in a few places, though. e.g. Tooltips are weird or wrong (the Scoundrel upgrades from "Blitz" to "Bombs Away II" -- I think maybe "Blitz" used to be called "Bombs Away"...

So, if you can get past the janky UI and other bits of half-bakedness, there's a fun game in here.

I full-completed the game - 4+ hours of fun, straightforward puzzling, with a nice new twist every "world". Improved my mental math. Make sure you find all the secret stages, they're a nice challenge.

This cheerful game is an absolute joy, and also deceptively deep. It gets frequent updates, and is clearly a labor of love by some very talented people.

What do I mean "deceptively deep"?

BTD6 is a fusion of tower defense and physics puzzle. Even the most basic Monkey throws darts - projectiles with travel time and pierce-through. Careful positioning will reward you with much better damage output, leaving you more money for other towers.

Then, the game just keeps adding wrinkles - like Lead bloons that darts can't pierce. So now you have to figure out how to pop Leads before they get to that basic Dart Monkey... or maybe upgrade the Dart Monkey to be able to do it? Or should I move it back to the later half of the track...

The wheels start turning. On the very hard modes, this becomes a very satisfying puzzle.

The best $10 you can spend on Steam, if it sounds interesting.

Oh and if you don't believe me that it's a serious labor of love, just look at the full patch notes for the big updates. BTD looks cartoony, but it's an incredibly fine-tuned, carefully balanced game.

Sadly, this game doesn't quite land. It has a bunch of really cool ideas, but they're all too under-developed to hang together.

I didn't unlock anything of interest in the latter half of my playtime. I liked the game enough that I pressed on, and even CE'd the game to 20x speed just to see if there was anything new within reach, but nope. I made some fun out of finding the OP ship setups, but that's about it.

I really wish I could suggest this one, but I can't :(

It's good! It's fun as a deckbuilder, the theme is charming, and the unit/room management adds an extra strategic dimension to the existing formula.

Priced about right for a well-polished indie title, and it seems to be getting great support!

Played the heck out of this, backed the sequel on Kickstarter. It's a fun adventure full of secrets and some legitimately tough puzzles.

If it looks at all interesting from the trailer, you'll prolly like it! I'm really excited for the second one.

Funny, short, and free! The puzzles are pretty hard, which is nice for a change. There's even a skip option, if you get stuck, which is a good way to do it.
