A&A does a whole lot with what it has - voice acting, sound mixing, card art and visual effects convey this game's well-written story strikingly well, and the mechanics are fresh enough to keep me interested past the end credits!

This game feels like a direct offspring of Poker and Magic: The Gathering in particular, doing things like card costs, draw, and attack/defense differently from other games of the roguelite genre.

I just finished the "Spring" story after ~8 hours of play, and that's with me being very familiar with the genre and finishing many of the chapters first try (due to focusing on one character/deck. Don't forget to water the tree to cash in your level ups, you unlock some very powerful things!).

I still have the cleverly-named "war of the branches" mode to explore, four other classes to dive into, and (i presume) Fall and Winter to unlock.

Surprisingly expressive for so simple a game, Tiny Civilization is a nicely-guided match-3 journey through known human history - and beyond. Mechanics mesh well with the historical concepts they represent, too.

It's not going to replace Civilization (the regular-sized one), but for two dollars I've had a lot of fun with it so far, and only just now beat my first Easy run after ~3 hours! Not easy, at all, but a satisfying challenge, and I'm excited to try Normal!

I'm only about halfway through the game, and I can already safely recommend this!

The puzzle design is great, with each level being a unique challenge with lots of eureka moments. Some of the puzzles rely on portal "math" tricks, while others are more lateral-thinking. Each level has optional hints and a skip-level button tucked away somewhere in it, and not once have I felt hand-held.

The game is barebones in terms of story and menus, laser-focused on its mechanics and engine - which runs at hundreds of FPS for me (and has an FOV slider!). That said, the narrative text has taken an interesting turn!

If you've ever tried to wrap your head around how moving portals would work, you owe it to yourself to give this a shot!

My brain is melted, but I'll be back for more.

Simple, and surprisingly engaging! The first ~10 floors were a little bland, but once it started playing around with effects on the dice slots more it hooked me. The Level 20 boss is a genius bit of design, in that regard!

Free, so give it a look!

☼Dwarf Fortress☼ is the best toy ever built.

It's not properly a game - there's no balanced set of challenges and objectives. It's built differently than that.
It's an ant farm, a fascinating project you get to watch and experience and tinker with.

DF needs patience and attention. Learn by doing, learn by failing, and don't be afraid to look stuff up on a wiki because you can't really be "spoiled". Your story will be unique.

It's hugely flawed as a "game" - unfair difficulty all over, things you couldn't have known about before they happened. Learning the game is really learning the Care and Feeding of a Dwarf, and the game doesn't teach you much of it directly.

The Steam release's graphics are wonderful (imo) and let you see what's happening far more than you used to be able to (believe it or not). The menu is also primitive, but far more explorable than it used to be.

Give it time, explore the menus, read detailed descriptions, try out crazy ideas.

Dwarf Fortress gives back what you put in, in fantastic ways.

Excellent gameplay, excellent music, excellent voice acting, excellent level design. A+

The rhythm aspect feels great, making you feel like you're playing the "firearms" part of the track. The vocals coming in at max Fury is hype every time.

The enemy variety isn't huge, but the designs are strong enough that I never minded. The marionettes may be my favorite fodder enemy design, the way they move is awesome.

Overall, the game makes fantastic use of everything in it, and I'm extremely excited for the teased sequel.

Cosmoteer offers a ship building and simulation that's as expressive as it is elegant. Everything operates by crew, so corridors are the only "plumbing" to worry about, and issues are easy to diagnose. The game is technically very mature, and I don't run into bugs or missing features - you can play out pretty much any ship/fleet fantasy you want, at this point.

The open world offers a large variety of increasingly difficult ships to test your design against, and the constantly running background AI ships can stumble in to make a situation more interesting at any moment. Combat can be brutal, which in turn makes it satisfying to master.

Note that the game lacks any story whatsoever, at least right now. It's a pure sandbox, with random quests and a reputation system, but it's up to you to make your own reason for playing spaceships.

Katamari vibes mixed with classic Flash game mechanics make for a game that has no business being as much fun as it is. Surprising and delightful all the way through, the majority of stages had me saying things like "You've got to be kidding me," out loud.

The game is clearly Made with Love, with lots of little interactables and details. The catchy soundtrack had me Decopinning in time with it for most of the game, too, like it was a rhythm game.

I just finished the game's 20 levels in about 2.5hrs, and if I hadn't stopped myself it would've been in one sitting. Addictive and satisfying little game, always with something new to show you.

Some drawbacks: There is no auto-save (the game warns on Quit, but...), and no display options as of this review. The English translation has lots of small errors, but it never gets in the way of gameplay. The Gem buy/sell/equip interface is also prone to mis-clicks and accidental sales, at least for me)

5/5, easy recommendation if you want something goofy and like the idea of a shooting gallery. Picked it up for the absurd premise, but it's a real gem!

Only two hours in, but I'm hooked!

Wearing its Stardew inspirations on its sleeve, Square Farm makes great use of its familiar setting to introduce new mechanics. The gameplay evolves with the seasons as different crops come into season, in turn changing the shapes you're placing in the puzzle.

Each day is just the right length to be satisfying, with your strategy changing from setup to execution to cleanup across a few dozen moves, trying to get those 3+ combos without leaving any unpicked produce at the end of the day. Saving up for the next farm upgrade is a nice motivation, as well!

So far, a well-crafted game!

An extremely well-polished "Zachlike" puzzler that's razor sharp. I'm thoroughly stumped only halfway through!

Effortless debugging, saves that keep your best work, and just overall a very smooth interface.

Each bot has a little Turing machine tape, and your factory's job is to implement the program for that level. Many solutions are satisfyingly simple, requiring some lateral thinking to rephrase the question in a better form. That keeps you thinking through the day!

The Demo will get you hooked if it's going to! And all carries over, too!
