Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, just as he is righteous.
He who practices sin is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
No one who has been born of God continues to sin, because God's seed remains in him. He cannot continue to sin, because he has been born of God.
In this it is clear who are the children of God and who are the children of the devil: Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not from God, and neither is anyone who does not love his brother.
