I bought this game for myself and two mates just over a year ago, It's been - and continues to be - great fun! I guess you could describe it as "L4D meets Minecraft" but honestly this doesn't quite do the game justice. The game also has a few things making it even more fantastic, namely:
- All DLCs are purely cosmetic, meaning there's no more game to buy once you've bought the base game.
- There are season passes, but they are completely free and you can switch freely between them so there's no FOMO.
- The developers are obviously interested in the game and its community, continuing to roll out awesome new content on the reg.
- The community! And what a community! Jerks and arseholes are few and far between, and really most people are somewhere between adequate and awesome. There's a lot of tolerance for new players, and many old players enjoy carrying/helping/instructing greenbeards*, myself included.
- There's also a good balance between sillyness and seriousness and adrenaline in this game. One moment you're neck deep in bugs, fighting for your life, the next you're all in a ring spamming rock and stone**, and yet another later you're kicking barrels and having beer on the space rig
- The space rig! My proverbial god(s), what an awesome lobby area! Everything is quite clear after just a little bit of playing the game and all important things in the start are right next to one another, so it's easy to navigate.

In conclusion, go get the game! I'd say it's worth it even when not on sale, but I did get it during a sale so yeah.
