Shadow Tactics is an engaging game with well integrated story. It's a stealth strategy game with easy to learn and hard to master mechanics. Tools the player is given aren't overpowered, but are more than enough for anyone to find their solution. Speaking of which, almost every challenge in this game can be solved in a variety of ways, which only vary in difficulty of their execution. There isn't any pre-determined solution and part of the fun is carving out your own playstyle, which develops every time your current strategy meets an obstacle.
The story serves as a great background to the gameplay. There's nothing exceptional about it, but it's good enough to keep the player engaged and it doesn't suffer from any easy storytelling grabs(?). There even were some parts I personally didn't expect, but they were well-made and cohesive to the rest of the story. The charcters despite being rather simple are consistent and just as the story create greater immersion. Soundtrack also fits the depicted world, but I don't have much to say about it.
The game took me 32h to complete. It can be completed much faster than that, and probably much slower, it depends on your playstyle. I enjoyed the entirety of it and maybe I'll come back to it, as there's still a lot of room for me to master it and there still lies gameplay hidden in completing my remaining 42% of steam achievements and doing the in-game optional challenges... and decreasing my average map completion from 2h/map, because that's probably embarassing.
In conclusion, I really enjoyed the logical exercise the game delivered and A HUGE amount of cheese it allows, further increasing the tools you have in your disposal.
