While this game isn't for everyone (Rather poor tutorial, a gacha game and a non-main game that's still set in a series), this is... probably one of the only gacha games I will come back to, especially as a majority free-to-play player.

The story of this game follows the previous games in the series made by Project Moon. Those games being:
Lobotomy Corporation, a management-sim in which you try to generate power by interacting with 'abnormalities'. It is an extremely difficult game, and one I would say you should only play for the sake of understanding the story (Or you're some kind of masochist with insane amounts of patience comparable to a saint.)

And Library of Ruina, a... non-traditional deck-builder, which can be beaten with enough time and effort (None of the challenges are unfair, so much as they are very difficult. I recommend using guns a lot if you ever play.) This one has a good amount of story, and some really solid gameplay thanks to the devs listening to the community's feedback. 100% recommend it.

Now, for Limbus Company...
This game was seemingly made for 2 reasons.
1. To expand the world the previous game started in, and as a result you are part of a group travelling around "The City" and finding something called Golden Boughs.
2. To allow Project Moon (The company making it) to fund their future projects. They, luckily, seem to be doing well because of this game, despite all the miscommunications that have occurred due to people spreading misinformation.

Now, I'm going to admit this outright:
I don't sit down grinding this game to max level everything, or even try to get every character. I just go for who I enjoy, and take my time getting through the story. The story revolves around a group known as the 'Sinners.'
These are the 'gacha' characters that you're able to pull for, but... not in the same way that other gacha games do. Instead of having over 80 characters to pull from, and every one of them being unique, Limbus instead decides to... simply expand the characters themselves. Each character has different 'identities' you can pull for, which are essentially different realities of themselves. Some may be leaders of a specific group, while others may be a random employee nobody would miss.
Every sinner has more than a few of these, and they're all fairly unique, even if they're from the same group. Though, so far no sinner has gotten more than a single Identity from the same exact 'group' and some have been teased in art, but haven't been implemented yet.
The gameplay, on the other hand, is... simple, yet complicated. I'm not the smartest when it comes to this, so I'll instead simply direct you to someone known as ESGOO over on youtube, as he did a guide covering the basics of the game recently.
As for the story, it's separated into what we call a 'Canto' which is centered around certain characters. I won't spoil anything about what order they're in, or what happens as... it's story telling is probably the strongest point in the game. It might seem like a lot at first, but that's simply because there's a rather sizeable cast that's almost always present, and a large amount of dialogue and banter (All of which is voiced in Korean, but has english subtitles. This is normal for Project Moon games. and creates some funny moments as part of the translation in later Cantos).

While I didn't cover much in-depth with my review, I hope it'll bring at least someone into it, as it's a game (and series) I love talking about with newer people.
