It's good only if you mod the ♥♥♥♥ out of it, so keep this in mind.
Buggy, with a messy level up system, a kinda atrocious combat and the weird dialogues and events that became a meme.

Just pop Mod Organizer installed, install most mods from Through the Valleys modlist, and you're good to go. The game is very good, it's basically a lesser complicated and modern Morrowind. Atmosphere and vibes are much better and closer to the "horrors" of Morrowind, than the high fantasy of Skyrim.

I kinda hated Skyrim, and enjoyed Morrowind incredibly, and with Oblivion I find myself having the same fun I had with Morrowind, with the occasional "man this is quite shallow" reaction to stuff from Skyrim. I'd say it's worth a try, especially if you don't mind installing some mods.

Don't play without them. It's truly a technical mess.
