While warframe is very grindy, each level up and maxed weapon is rewarding on it's own. ya gotta farm and craft everything and that way you don't have to spend a single cent. however if you do want to spend money there is a platinum (in game premium currency) which if you wait for a discount that comes in the daily reward system is quite cheap if you consider what you can do with it. the developers bring out updates pretty consistently and care about the game.
