As I am winding through the story piece by piece, I am even further charmed by the beautiful scenery, lively characters and how thoroughly in awe I am about how my expectations are defied along the way. The story itself hit me deeply - a gentle reminder how it's okay to give yourself space to feel sad, afraid, or homesick and how sometimes those you meet along the way may wish to find their own fire in themselves. I really appreciate how beautifully they detailed this in our little Ember's development as a character.

The puzzles I have encountered have been a mix of difficulties ranging from fairly straightforward to others that need some more careful thought in how to solve them. I am happy that it gives me a kind option to reset the puzzle if I get stuck.

From a technical standpoint, this game runs BEAUTIFULLY on my PC without a single hitch. I love the ambient music for each large section I have seen so far, and the controls are kind to me on my keyboard. I find the narrator's voice to be soothing as well. I enjoy that I can modify my sound settings with sliders if I want to listen to my own music in exchange.

I am purposely taking my time through The Last Campfire; it is not often at all that I find a game that actively encourages me as a player to slow down and take in the sights around me (i.e. Journey, A Short Hike, Lost Ember, to name a few). There are lots of gorgeous details if you take a chance to look off the main path for a short while, as well as a large cluster of journal notes to collect. This game is definitely worth giving a try. There is a real gem to cherish here.
