Bought the Pixel Remasters for one part nostalgia, one part history and one part curiosity. I played many of these games as a kid and wanted to replay them as an adult so I could reflect on the progress in RPG gaming. I also wanted to take a closer look at the references many of the games share such as the names, monsters, and vehicles. With these games on steam it allows me to make history while playing history with Steam Achievements.

This game allows the player to reflect on the RPG scene during the late 80s. Its both easy and challenging at the same time. The game play is nothing special by today's standards but back then it was amazing, I was one of those kids who would have bought this without the strategy guide but boy that is a mistake. The hints at what to do next are so obscure that you could very well end up trying to talk to everyone in all the cities to figure out what to do next. Fortunately the Devs included the ability in this version to turn encounters off and to increase run speed.

What really kept me engaged in this remaster was the amazing music and the vibrant visuals. Its old-school cool and if you teleport yourself to the 80s for just a moment you may remember just how epic this game was at the time.
