The game gives an incredibly bad first impression to me.

I'm sure the game is fairly fun once you know how to play, but right off the bat I can tell this just isn't the game for me. There's a lot going on immediately, The UI just feels so cluttered, and the first few level ups are so critical that you get punished if you don't get specific things. I was done after my first attempt, just because I didn't unlock the knife, so i was not able to get leather or bone for the oxidizer (None of my other tools seemed to give me any materials from corpses).

If you're willing to give it longer than me, you'll probably enjoy it. But I just didn't.

Super fun. Made it to floor 45 in my second run. I'm still going. Will update later.

A pretty fun game. Skins are pretty pricey though. The average skin will cost you ~15, and the alternate colors for them are ~$5 each, with the "Luxe" version being $10.

Honestly a pretty fun game.

It is important to note that, while I do love the game, it can be fairly shallow at times. There's a handful of missions you'll be doing, and two different factions of enemies you'll be fighting. A lot of the replayability relies on grinding unlocks and the evolving story, which isn't everyone's cup of tea, and I'm very unsure of what the game state will be at the end of this game's life cycle. I have personally not played Helldivers 1, but I can only assume it will follow a similar formula.

The community has been VERY rocky, with controversies and divisive balance changes, hence the very on/off Good and Bad reviews. This is a game I'd definitely sort the reviews by newest if you're interested in playing. The most recent patch as of this review (1.001.100) brought a lot of buffs and nerfs to some more frustrating enemies.

When it comes to Warbonds, the games battlepass system, it is fairly generous. Every battlepass is 1000 super credits, the games premium currency, and offer an assortment of guns, armor, boosters, and various cosmetics. If you were to purchase super credits, this would be ~$10 USD. You can purchase and make progress in them at any time, which is a huge plus for a casual gamer. It is similar to Fortnite's battlepass, where you spend tokens (Medals) to unlock items in it, and you get access to the next tier (Each premium warbond has 3 tiers) once you spend enough of them on the current one. You can get them by either completing personal orders (Which you get one daily, and it rewards you with 15 Medals), the community completing a major order (Which can reward 45 or more medals, and usually last around a week), or by finding them during missions. An important note is that, while you don't have to play in order to get the MO rewards, there IS a cap of 250 Medals. Any medals received while at this cap will go to waste. What adds to its generosity is you can also find super credits during missions. The amount you get can range from 10 to 100 (Which is very rare, I've only seen it once). You can absolutely farm these, and never have to spend a single cent on this game (I have bought a few though), but you're not always guaranteed to find some, especially on lower difficulty missions. It will take at maximum ~100 missions to get enough SC for a warbond.

I'd definitely recommend this game. And it's a TON of fun with friends. But just know the game is NOT meant for solo play. It is heavily balanced around there being four people in your squad. Please keep that in mind if you're in an area with poor/unreliable internet, or just don't like playing with random people.

Honestly, I lost interest because the Panda skin is no longer available. I'm actually serious about this. I didn't get it, and now I regret it because the head would have been funny as hell on the new skin. Clearly the devs don't want any money.

To be completely blunt, a ton of stuff in this game is just AI art. It's pretty obvious.
But I have to say, the game is kind of fun. It's a constant stream of stuff after stuff, but you can just quit at almost any point (Maybe not in matches, I haven't tried) and pick up right where you left off.

It's a neat game, but there's a bunch of things that just don't make it fun.

Primarily, it's very cluttered. You have to shove a lot of things onto one island to get them to work, and once they're put down they're there forever. You cannot get rid of them once you put them down. This leads to a lot of issues with more complex recipes (Pie and Chocolate, in my experience. I have everything I need for them but I am incapable of actually producing them). The game seems to highly incentivize knowing exactly where you're going to place things, which is kind of counter intuitive to the roguelike aspect of it. There is no flexibility in this game whatsoever.

The game has changed far too much for me to still enjoy it. Back when I used to play, it was an alright game. You could play to earn credits to buy cosmetics and stuff. But now it's a bit ridiculous....
Not to mention, it's a completely different game now.

It overall just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I am actually kind of addicted to this game. It's really fun. Highly recommend NOT recommending this to anyone who has an addictive personality.
