this is better than dark souls

4/10 at best for me personally. The 1st half of the game is great leaving me curious as to whether the other positive reviewers on here actually finished the game. The biggest issue are the controls. The clicking to move the character leaves too much opportunity for messing up in the later stages that require a lot of precision. There were times where if i click too close to a wall i wouldn't move at all and sometimes where we would just walk in the opposite direction. too inconsistent. If I could have controlled my character with a simple dpad and or stick this game would be exponentially better. Maybe I'm too accustomed to old school control schemes but the click to move and ultimatley touch based controls ruined the experience for me on an exponential level. Unfortunate since I was extremely excited for this game and I love both top down games and stealth games. Oh well. If you enjoy touch controls then you may have a blast if you are more comfortable with tactile and physical feedback pass on this one. Oh and some of the safe combinations are ridiculous and are almost necessary to look up to figure out. I don't want to spoil but if you do play you will understand. k bye.

This game is amazing. I never played the earlier ones but I can say that this game definitely holds its own even if it takes a different format than before. It is an extremely exciting metroidvania style platformer where the exploration never feels tedious and the action is both smooth and rewarding! Definitely check this game out! 10/10 Recommend.
