I strongly recommend against purchasing this game or supporting Capcom as a company. Capcom added a malicious DRM called Enigma Protector, which is very shady and obfuscates where the company is from, to several of their older titles, years after their initial release. This unexpected update has impacted the performance of these games, causing severe frame rate drops and making them unplayable for many. But even more concerning for me, this seems to be an attempt to prevent mods and custom content, which have been a vital part of enhancing the gaming experience for many players from custom content to actual fixes.

This decision not only shows a blatant disregard for the community but also reveals Capcom's anti-consumer practices. It’s evident that this was a deliberate attempt to control how players interact with their games. This is further confirmed by the fact that many players, including myself, have experienced issues like wiped saves, lost achievements, and UI errors on Steam pages.

By introducing this intrusive DRM, Capcom has clearly shown that they prioritize their crusade against modding over the satisfaction of their paying customers. This is unacceptable, and I urge potential players to reconsider supporting a company that treats its customers this way. Until this DRM is removed and Capcom makes amends for this anti-consumer behavior, I cannot recommend this game or any other Capcom titles that use this DRM.

Similar in appearance and play to the coin-op arcade Strider 2. I was curious as to how they would improve on Strider 1, which I played a lot. The movement response, control, and blade action really add to the title, and you get 2K 60fps. It is a lot more fun and addictive than I thought a ten year old title would be. There's plenty of button mashing old school coin-op arcade action within, and it's not slow and cumbersome as it might have been. Well worth $5, which would have been a weekend at the 90's coin-op arcade.

Might need more time with it, but I don't find it engaging. It's not as dynamic as the trailer suggests - it requires far more precision than anything. The created oppressing atmosphere isn't for me either. Some russian constantly pushes the stakes, sends an entire army for you. The character feels quite sneaky, but requires an all out attack pattern. I can see this as one of those old-school arcade game that were never all that much fun as the punishing part where you defeat the odds with lots of repetition and precise inputs while already awaiting what is to come.
It's quite a try-hard game, where I definitely lack the skill and patience that it needs. That may appeal to many, and there are certainly genres where I enjoy that challenge, but this doesn't click with me.
