The mechanics of this game are pretty interesting, and the limited run time is really holding it back. This could have been a 15 or 20 dollars game if there were a few extra bosses added.

Additionally, the enemy that is about to spawn should show its type, so that you don't get stun locked and die. That's the only really frustrating mechanic.

A tactical horde shooter. What a weirdly delicous mix.

Great exploration and puzzle-focused metroidvania. Music and sound design is excellent. Visuals style is weird at first, but really is executed super well and ends up contributing a lot to the game's ambiance.

Just a few hours in and I can tell this is going to be a wild ride. It's early access, but there's already plenty to do.

It doesn't reinvent anything it doesn't need to, but it borrows all the best parts from other games without just directly copying them.

Probably the most content you can get for 10 dollars. It's fun to just play around and build stupid machines, but the real beauty is the unique game modes. Prop Hunt alone makes this an exceptional game for Friday nights with the friends.

Pretty much a perfect survival game. Progression is well-paced, combat is fair and challenging. Enemy and biome resources never become obsolete, but also don't just grow exponentially in how much of a basic item you need. Cheese strategies are few and far between, but fun and interesting if you do use them. Exploration is pretty much unmatched. Community and mods are awesome.

I do wish they would introduce a way to officially destroy excess items. Even just a "trash" slot on your inventory screen would be nice. It's frustrating to see items you threw away (threw into the ocean) 10 game days ago just chilling on the ground or under water.

I wish the start was a little bit more directed, but it's a great game overall.

Sometimes the UI doesn't serve the game well, and adding hover-over tool tips to certain actions (like uninstalling a base area and losing your module upgrade for that area) to let players know about the dangers of what they are about to do would be nice. (EDIT: Lotta UI changes/improvements were made shortly after I made this review)

Once you have your base upgraded and your weapons kitted the way you want, the desire to continue the game for the sake of the story goes away. That said, an early access single player indie game holding my attention for 21 hours is pretty good, especially considering the price. It's already worth it as is, but will definitely be worth it as more content is added.

It's pretty hard to get a similar dopamine hit anywhere else for less than five dollars.

One of the best single player games to ever be released. The combat is tough, but fair and interesting. The atmosphere is wonderful. There is zero text-based exposition. This game is a perfect example of how to limit scope in order to perfect the core of the game.

It's pretty fun.

I thought that the game was shallow after I beat the first settlement raid by stand still with my gold sword. The second raid killed all of my villagers, and then I knew I had to actually collect extra resources to keep my town well equipped.
