Maybe my opinion will change more as I play, but as of now, unless you're nostalgic for the OG game, I'd give this one a pass.

I didn't have any of the performance issues or crashes that others have had, but the game is just a lot of meh. It looks great to me, but the world is empty, the combat feels sluggish, and the NPC animations are atrocious. Honestly, the former is my main complaint. The cities and the overworld are so empty and devoid of life that there's no real reason to explore. Every secondary location is some sort of cave or mine with no reason to exist other than enemies and loot.

The cities are empty and pointless, with like five guards and a beggar for company. Look to Witcher 3 for an example of how to make a world that's pretty, full of life, and worthy of exploring. Oblivion feels like one big empty field with a cities at each corner. Maybe it gets better, but 6 hours in, I'm not the biggest fan.

Tremendous time waster! As someone who loves Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars more than they should IRL, this is a must-have

Anyway the game is itself is fantastic! It's everything I wanted from Elite Dangerous's hauling missions. Can't wait for future updates!

Actually really fun for a free game with friends!

It's...okay. I'm as big of a car nerd as you can get and I've been hyped to play this game since it was announced. After ten hours though, I can say it's just boring. For a game with the word "drive" in the name, I was expecting to actually drive between the areas on the map. What actually happens is that you drive to a gateway, and you teleport. The exploration is rather minimal, just like Starfield.

When you do explore, it's some variation of the same map with buildings in different places. Sure, some new buildings get added later, but it feels like a No Man's Sky type of "procedural generation." The core gameplay loop is just teleport to new map, drive to get loot, get out, upgrade, rinse and repeat. Nothing really NEW happens other than new variations of enemies. Hopefully someone takes this car upgrading, post-apocalyptic, driving simulator idea and makes it better.

The graphics, music, and ambiance are incredible. They are however let down by the boring gameplay system surrounding them. The dev's no savegame "reason" also feels like an excuse to make the game artificially longer.

AAA developers could never make something this fun and whimsical! <3

I've never seen Star Wars but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is this a fun game. 20+ hours in and still on the first chapter. There are so many quests <3
